"Embed" phpBB forum in an existing site?

Hello, If I have a www.mysiteforexample.com with my design, navbar, header, footer etc. and I want that in the navbar I'll have a link "Forums", and when I click it, the phpBB forums will open there, however keep the surrounding like the website, so that the forum will look like part of the website,...

Re: Style working only inside the forum but not on Board Index

Thanks!
I just noticed there's a red "v" at my topic's title. Is it an extension for "solved"? Is it built-in? Or it's something only moderators can do?

Re: Style working only inside the forum but not on Board Index

Thanks guys! Yes, KevC was correct, I needed to Override! :D
I like this proflat style, but right now it's only for 3.2.9 so I installed an older version of phpBB! (3.2.9 instead of 3.3) - Do I lose anything important when not using 3.3 over 3.2.9?

Style working only inside the forum but not on Board Index

Hello, I installed phpBB 3.2.9 and also installed proflat theme. The structure is as follows: Forum > Category1 The proflat doesn't show up on board index (Where I see "Forum"), but when I click "Forum" then I see the proflat style with the Category1. I clearly chose proflat for "Forum" on the ACP.....

Re: What is the most "modern" phpBB style?

Thank you guys for the replies, you said ThemeForest is a good place to buy Milk theme. Are there more known websites to purchase themes? About modern: there are forums that are easier to navigate when viewing in Mobile devices. Therefore I mean modern, not only the looks of it. Example are LinusTec...

Re: What is the most "modern" phpBB style?

It is, but I guess if I compare today's forums look to this phpBB forum I feel like I'm 15 years back :D (It's probably because most forums out there look different that this one, which kept its unique look, although it's responsive)

What is the most "modern" phpBB style?

phpBB has been here for a long time, and it's great, but I'm sure some of you would agree that it looks a bit outdated. Is there a plugin/style that turns it into a more "modern" look? Can be a paid style as well. I saw this website with many paid themes, one of them called "Milk" which turns phpBB ...

Re: The installer detected a timeout

I did change timeout settings, but it didn't help because the timeout is probably caused by the ssl thing. Do you have any idea why it happens? It's a simple xampp server on my laptop, not a real production server, how did it happen? Any ideas how to fix it?

Do 3.2 styles work with 3.3 version?

The only available phpBB download is of the newest phpBB 3.3. But in the styles database I don't see any styles for 3.3, mostly for 3.2<.. Are they compatible with 3.3?

The installer detected a timeout

I try to install phpBB3.3 on my pc in localhost with Windows 10 and XAMPP. When I run the installation I get the error: The installer detected a timeout The installer has detected a timeout, you may try to refresh the page, which may lead to data corruption. We suggest that you either increase your ...

Re: Need some help and info after initial installation

Thank you guys. I will then try to install it myself. About WordPress, this is what I'm trying to achieve: (I edited the photos using Paint, it's not what I have now) This is how my WP home page should look like: https://i.imgur.com/Sq56N1X.jpg And then it should show up like this: https://i.imgur.c...

Need some help and info after initial installation

Hello, I just installed phpBB on AWS using Bitnami installation. It was really easy, few clicks and my forum was up and running. I have a few concerns: 1) Is the Bitnami installation method really free? What do they earn from it then? 2) Is it a good installation method for production forum? Or ther...
