Re: VPS size for phpbb

... and cloudflare Be aware that Cloudflare if it is not configured correctly (and that may be the reason for your slow searches) is known to cause problems with phpBB - there are many topics on this board where Cloudflare has been the culprit when there is a problem. Thanks. I made some searches a...

Re: VPS size for phpbb

I moved my forum to a 1 core 512MB VPS on Vultr (with serverpilot and cloudflare) and it runs fine. Only searching can be a bit slow.

Re: VPS size for phpbb

The average is 1.6 page views per minute. The peak is 6 per minute. Maybe I could add a bit to that and say 10 page views per minute max. This is an old forum, it will not get more popular suddenly. I don't want to be paying for hosting way more than it needs. If for some reason one day it gets a to...

Re: VPS size for phpbb

I am going to use Serverpilot as a panel, which is a remote panel which takes nearly no resources and allows PHP versions down to 5.4 which works OK with my version of phpbb. page views per month is irrelevant How many simultaneous visitors do you have? When you say "simultaneous visitors" do you me...

VPS size for phpbb

Hello, I have a phpbb forum (version 3.0.8) which is now hosted on a dedicated server along with other websites. I am planning to move it to its own VPS on Vultr (or Linode). This forum receives about 50.000 page views per month. About how big should the VPS be? Would the 1 core 1GB RAM VPS be suffi...

Re: Upgrading from 3.0.8

stevemaury, I didn't follow your instructions because what I understood is that all my mods and design will be gone if I upgrade to 3.2 and I will just get the default phpbb design and features. Or did I not understand correctly? The errors I am getting is when running 3.0.8 with php 5.6. I get some...

Re: Upgrading from 3.0.8

Thanks. What is the minimum version of phpbb that supports php 5.6?

My 3.0.8 gives me some errors when I did a test upgrade on the local server.

Upgrading from 3.0.8

Hello, A forum I own still runs on 3.0.8 on a server with php4. I am planning to move to a new server with either php 5.6 or php 7.1 and I need to upgrade phpbb to support those php versions. What is the oldest version of phpbb that supports php 5.6? How about 7.1? My forum has several mods, includi...

Re: Users not able to see own posts in queue

Thank you

Is there any mod to change this default behavior?

What I would prefer is if users could see their own posts in the queue in the same way that Mods can see them - with the "This post is waiting for approval" message at the top (without it being a link of course).

Users not able to see own posts in queue

Hello, I've setup the forum in such a way so the posts of newly registered users go to the queue for approval. Moderators and Admins can see the posts in queue, but the new member who made the post can't see their own post after they made them. They can only see it when it is approved, along with al...

Re: RSS mod of defualt Atom feeds?

If there is no such mod, would modifying feed.php enough to change it from Atom to RSS, or there are other files involved?

Thanks

RSS mod of defualt Atom feeds?

Hello, Is there a mod that will alter the feed.php that comes with phpbb to make it output RSS instead of (or in additional to) Atom feeds? I found some other mods that are completely separate from the default, but they appear to be older mods with some limitations. (I tried one of the most popular ...

I run that SQL command to create the index but I didn't see any noticeable improvement. My Forum has 650.000 posts.

Re: FAQ: phpBB 3.0.7 / 3.0.8 ATOM feed

Is there a reason why ATOM was chosen even thought RSS is more widely supported? And is there a reason for the "unusual structure" of the ATOM feed? I tried Simple Syndication 1.2.1 but for some reason it is extremely slow. How difficult is it to modify feed.php to produce RSS and ATOM (without any ...
