Incomplete upgrade?

Hello. I recently upgraded from 3.0.6 to 3.0.11. I have a few simple mods installed, so what I normally do is to reapply my mods on a fresh installation of the latest version, then put the upgrade system and upgrade from the old version to the new version - (ONLY DB upgrade, I quit when it asks me t...

Re: Syncing forum counter(s) to actual status

Thanks but I was having a hard time including phpBB's functions file, is there an easy way to include it? I tried: define('IN_PHPBB', true); $phpbb_root_path = (defined('PHPBB_ROOT_PATH')) ? PHPBB_ROOT_PATH : '/var/www/phpBB3/'; $phpEx = substr(strrchr(__FILE__, '.'), 1); include($phpbb_root_path . ...

Re: Syncing forum counter(s) to actual status

Oooops :)
You are right, completely forgot about that!

Last question (hopefully) -
The old forum stored the password in plain text format (yeah, I know... I didn't write it...)
Is there an easy way to hash them? I know it's not just an md5 as there a salt involved as well, right?

Thanks again.

Syncing forum counter(s) to actual status

Hello, I have managed to convert the majority of the data off my friend's forum to phpbb3, I populated the users, the topics and the posts tables with information from the old forum. I am currently facing 2 issues: 1. Forums posts counters are zero 2. (probably due to the same reason) - Each forum s...

Calculating post_checksum

Hi again, I somehow missed this field and didn't ask about it in my original post, sorry for that - I see that there is a post_checksum field, it looks like an md5 but when I run md5 on one of the posts in my own forum - the result was different than the value in the database, is there anything in p...

Re: Calculating bbcode_bitfield

If I understood it right - the bitfield is simply a uuencoded representation of a list of included bbcode tags? What about custom bbcode tags? are they not being calculated as well? In any case - the forum from which my friend is moving doesn't support anything other than quote, would it be safe to ...

Calculating bbcode_bitfield

Hi,
I am trying to help a friend migrate from a proprietary forum to phpBB3, everything looks okay except we don't know how to calculate bbcode_bitfield, how can we calculate the bitfield?

Thanks.

A specific usergroup is automaticallly being added to PMs

Hello, A few users on my board complain that when they compose a new message one of the groups I added is being automatically selected so when they add the recipients - it adds the group as well. I couldn't find such an option anywhere, is there any profile configuration or forum-global configuratio...

mix of old emoticons and new ones after upgrade

Hi, This is something that has been bothering me for a long time: In one of the upgrades I did a long time ago new emoticons were introduced, some "smilies" are being recognized as the new ones and some as the old ones. For example: I still have icon_wink.gif while the new format uses icon_e_wink.gi...
