the possibility is that phpmyadmin is trying to obtain a file lock, so that it can read the table without it being modified during the read, and it is being refused that lock because of the forum already running against it... That had crossed my mind, as well, but in the two years I've been at my p...

There is one process displayed. Under sql-query it says "SHOW PROCESSLIST", and when I try to kill it reports "phpMyAdmin was unable to kill thread 12345. It probably has already been closed." I presume that's just me.

What's weirding me out isn't the possibility of a corrupted database (btw - this is the message text table and the board itself seems to be running perfectly) but rather that mysql is reporting "file not found" errors. I don't understand how mysql can report the file as not found when at the same ti...

The server was rebooted. This had no effect on the status of the database.
