Note: I have removed testuser from my board for security reasons. Please let me know if you would like to assist with this issue and need it reinstalled.

Re: [3.3.0] Index page not translated on user selection

I can see a mix of languages. I wonder if one of your extensions, such as profile flair, is loading common.php before the user's language is determined. Would that be consistent with the behavior seen when the language pack is enabled as the default? I'm not certain of the order in which the files ...

Re: Unsure on the practicality of my idea - Forum integration

Slightly moreso, but I'm not certain my answer would change... It sounds as if the forum would be embedded in a larger game construct with non-forum pages, which would conceivably be possible...indeed, there are non-forum pages here, as you've pointed out. I'm afraid I don't have enough coding exper...

I suspect webrings died out because......why would I want to drive traffic to someone elses site instead of mine?
Well, I didn't ask "why", I asked if this existed. The answer "no" is sufficient.

[3.3.0] Index page not translated on user selection

Hello, everyone. Minor issue with translation...I am running 3.3.0 and have installed French Language Pack 4.0.0, which is the indicated version for 3.3.0. Installation was normal; no errors noted. The intent was to create a single forum for French-speaking users, so I did not invoke French as the l...

Forum "webring"?

Greetings, all. I was asked something recently by someone in my company which I didn't know the answer to, so I thought I'd open it as a point of discussion here. I have found other forums out there other than my own which I have joined, and there's been some discussion of mutually directing traffic...

Re: Unsure on the practicality of my idea - Forum integration

I'm a bit hazy on the details of what you're proposing, but I would think it would depend on the mechanics of the game. If it was primarily communication-based -- such as Diplomacy -- then I would think that perhaps even an extension could be written which could handle the ancillary aspects (in the ...

Re: Happy....

Sounds like a real challenge. Since I went into business for myself and stepped away from the "industry" side of things, I've been continually surprised at how little computer literacy there is in the wider world, and it does take easing people into the process. I've often told people that my job a...

Or put it in your signature. We consider links in posts not necessary or useful for receiving support, to be spam.
Not certain how it is better to have it in one's signature - and it was actually part of the support I was lending - but it's not a big deal. I'm not going to worry about it.

Re: Getting a forum off the ground.

Having new users - especially those I don't have to explain the forums to! - would certainly be welcome, of course. We're at [removed] (I'm based in Columbia; that's the answer to the registration question.) Hm. Apparently, one of the mods had a problem with the link, for some reason. If you wish t...

Re: Getting a forum off the ground.

I understand about getting things going. My own forum was designed as a discussion forum for clients, but I realized that my clientele (mostly low-info users, mostly seniors) simply don't have the expertise to use any kind of forum. At the same time, I mostly checked out of Twitter and Mastodon. I d...
