thanks, i dont suppsose anyone knows how invision make their cross-session unread thing work? i have been trying to figure that out too, but i cant see how it works at all

can someone please explain to me how phpbb tracks which topics a user has/hasnt read. i assume that when a user logs in phpbb checks the user's last login time and highlights posts which have been made since then, but during the session, how are the topics tracked, because although topics that have ...

it was to johnesku's problem, however if you are having problems with your global announcemetns showing up as normal posts and/or your normal announcements showing up on the hommepage then that is what the above will fix

thats a good idea, although it will increase the load on webservers. if you were doing that you could do the same for the last post in each forum

does anyone know if there is a setting in teh apache config that forces it to use a proxy, becuase teh mail function will work, but it setill needs to go through a proxy to reach teh server defined in teh php.ini
