Re: Africa …a lone continent

What comes to mind? I suppose in many American minds, we think about desert wilderness conditions and tribal villages. I've never been to Africa, but I have many Kenyan, Sudanese, and Togoan (how do you say someone from Togo?) friends at my school, among others, and some American friends who have go...

Re: Organ donors

We have a strange situation in the UK as far as donors are concerned. Only a day or so ago I read that the requirement for a donor organ is in the ration of 3:1 for Asian/African : White European folks but that donors are in the ratio of 1:4 Clearly there is a greater demand for organs by one group...

Re: Euthanasia

I agree mostly with tmtarringer. This is, of course, a slippery slope argument of sorts, but still it seems a fairly valid concern, there are many ways such a policy could be abused.

From what I've heard, these artifacts were found, as you said, a while back, and nothing was thought of them. It seems to me the only reason they're getting attention now is a movie/tv special deal. Jesus was a very common name, as I'm sure you all know. In fact, some sources say that Barabbas was a...

See corporations everywhere seem to think its ok to take away the freedoms given to human beings by taxing and/or wanting to collect profit on every single asset of life that we have, which includes music. So i see downloading music as way to very silently get back at them. Think of it under Nozick...

Very useful info, U. Of course regular persons cannot go on the tracks. They have not the status, it is a VIOLATION and calls for banning, a snippy/vague comment and closing of the scene and deleting the public record of the incident. (A cross-referenced copy should be retained for control purposes...

A reminder of the time I spent working on cleaning up residential areas in New Orleans after Katrina. Someone side-walk chalk drew this at one of the camps where food ...

I just do not see the teacher's thinking. Maybe she was grumpy that day, I don't know, but I don't see any real reason to go and tell the kids this. You know it's going to upset parents. Ah well...

I found the Christmas logos for the past 4 years. They even have Olympics, that logo above (ok, what's that even for ?), and all those dates. It was the birthday of Edvard Munch (December 12, 1863 – January 23, 1944), the man who painted the painting on which that logo was based. He was an expressi...

Well thanks guys... I will have to try out some of your ideas. I have already created a hidden moderator forum, my idea was to have a post in there of moderator guidelines, like I have a general set of guidelines posted for members. There are a set of guidelines for moderators on this site. I could ...

Moderator Guidelines

Hey Guys, I'm guessing that large boards with multiple moderators, such as this one, have guidelines for their moderators. As my board is growing, and I have more moderators now, I'm thinking of creating such guidelines, and I was wondering what kind of guidelines are given on this board, or any oth...
