I must disagree with Lumpy. The load times on dialup are annoyingly long, especially if you want to do more than one thing at a time on 56k. I suspect he may be thinking of something else, like how long the database takes to retrieve the information, which would certainly take the same amount of tim...

You can do this by going through the forum creation process and inputting exactly the same information as before, except for the table prefix. If you selected the default table prefix for your database tables when you created the first forum, use a non-default table prefix when you create your secon...

Login support for mirrored domains?

I have two domains. The trouble is no one can seem to agree which should be the "correct" one, kumoricon.org or kumoricon.com. Currently my phpbb board along with my whole site exists on .com. However, we have email aliases that use .org. Clearly, the situation is a confusing mess but as t...

Excuse me for not wanting to read 104 pages. The version in the initial post doesn't appear to work for me. One of the drop-down boxes implies there should be 8 columns of information but I only see 4. Also, sorting won't work. What version is the latest validated version and what is the link I can ...

But like we've said numerous times, these things are critical in phpBB. Most of the suggested additions are what -you- want and not what everyone -needs-. I definitely don't use quick reply, shoutbox or file attachments on any of my forums. Quick reply is one mod I do see used a fair bit, but again...

EasyMOD support for templates

I have tried to install some mods with EasyMOD but every time I tried to install a MOD that makes a change to SubSilver it does not attempt to make any corresponding change to other templates I have installed on my board. One other template in particular is my default template and the one all my use...

Sorry if this was mentioned already but I didn't want to read 11 pages of posts on this topic. Is there any chance of seeing this mod come in the form of customizable fields in the ACP? Where the admin can create their own simple question and answer to quiz potential registrants, rather than editin...

Re: It should be standard.

As long as you keep track of which mods you have installed, I can't think of any reasons one would have trouble with mods. Having trouble finding code? Find which mod edits that file/line. Please, I would love to know how this can easily be done. I have tried keeping track of my mods, and I still h...

I have to come out and say I agree with the original poster. It is VERY disappointing that phpBB is refusing to incorporate so many features that lead many of us to duplicate the work of modding it in, many features that very definitely should be standard. Modding my board because the features I nee...

How to best clear out spammers?

Like many other phpBB boards, my board is plagued with spammers and bots. I am currently in the process of trying to update my phpBB board to the current version and implement a few anti-spammer measures. For now, when a spammer is identified, the user is banned. However, this clutters up my banlist...

Thanks. It's much appreciated. Please note, there's one (I couldn't find the location again) called "Clean Tables" that only removes additions to standard phpBB databases, and it didn't specify which version of phpBB it was meant for. It removed tables created by EasyMOD and one or two oth...

I've already created the table phpbb_sessions_keys by copying the table created by a fresh installation of phpBB 2.0.21 that I made using the same database but a different table prefix. Will this do? What I really need to know is what other changes to the database do I need to make? Is there a php s...
