Re: Forum doesn't keep users logged in after host change

I had the same problem. I just moved two forums from one website to another and the login information wouldn't stay. I cleared most of the cache as indicated above but still had the problem. Then I looked at the Server settings ... I had forgotten to change the Server protocol, Domain name, a...

Re: Restoring Forums Backup Manually

that's good. glad you got it worked out. however, if your database is bigger than 2MB and your host has not changed the default php setting then phpmyadmin will error out because your import file will be too big. also, there is no need to drop all the tables of your new phpbb database before you im...

Re: Restoring Forums Backup Manually

the problem is not phpmyadmin but php itself. the default upload filesize for php is 2MB. many hosts never get around to changing the default settings. so, the answer to your question is go ahead and use bigdump just to be sure that is not the problem. See this article for more info: Knowledge Base...

Re: Restoring Forums Backup Manually

I have also been trying to restore a database with no luck. In my case, I have a 4.7MB database on a website I will be closing that I'm trying to restore to another website so I don't lose the information. I've tried using the phpbb restore function as well as phpMyAdmin with no luck. Is 4.7MB too l...

Perfect! Thank you. Obviously someone a lot smarter than I thought of this way before I even thought about it.

Nicely done. :)

Re: Commenting out social media fields

You mean like clicking the "Deactivate" link on the Custom Profile Fields page? Are you talking about the options under "Load settings" on the "Board features" page? [Added] OK, "Display custom profile fields in user profiles:" comes close. It will not allow the information to display. What I want ...

Re: Error code appears when trying to open any topic.

OK, I have been able (probably mostly through blind luck) to overcome the problem with the error code above.

Now I am getting a different problem that seems even worse. I will start a new topic.

Thanks for the help so far.

Re: Error code appears when trying to open any topic.

I removed all Mods, The error is referring to a non standard bbcode - so my guess is that you have removed that bbcode which was installed as a MOD Hmm. The last Mod I removed was Advanced BBCode. That might explain the problem. The topic probably has posts that use the Modded BBCode Add-on. I had ...
