How to tackle single signon

I'm working on migrating an old phpbb3.0.9 install and looking at the best option for single signon using native authentication or a custom auth mod. I do not want to use and become reliant upon a bridge that will inevitably not be supported by one of the two sides of the software. My intent is to h...

Resurrect VF / ShMk User Feedback for 3.2 with prior DB support?

I have a forum that has a history of users who have left each other feedback over the past 8 years using ShMk's User Feedback. I'm going through the motions of upgrading it from 3.0.9 to 3.2 and looking for a way to address feedback. Is anyone (maybe ViolaF?) interested in making this work for 3.2 b...

Restrict editing to append to body/subject

Are there any mods that exist or that I could easily start with to limit editing of a post to adding information to the body and/or prepending text to the subject? I'm trying to limit destruction of posts in a For Sale area (not the entire forum) and want to allow users to add updates and/or modify ...

Modifying self-lock behavior

I have a collection 3-4 forums that are for users to trade/sell items. I've enabled thread locking by the original author as well as prohibited editing posts in these threads. This creates a problem in that users can't inject "SOLD" or "DELISTED" into their subjects -- when editing was permitted, pe...

Re: 3.0.4 to 3.0.7PL1 error: diff3::get_num_conflicts()

I think I found the problem.

I was using the 3.07 to 3.0.7PL1 package instead of the 3.0.4 -> 3.0.7PL1 package. Entirely my fault, but too bad it let me go that far without warning me it couldn't handle it :)

Re: 3.0.4 to 3.0.7PL1 error: diff3::get_num_conflicts()

get_num_conflicts() is in ./includes/diff/diff.php It was added in version 3.0.5. Is there a more appropriate way to upgrade from 3.0.4 then? The installer didn't have a problem with upgrading the database, but it choked at the file comparison stage because of this undefined function. Since I'm tes...

Re: 3.0.4 to 3.0.7PL1 error: diff3::get_num_conflicts()

I'm digging around trying to figure out why install thinks this function isn't defined. Where IS gen_num_conflicts() defined? its not in the base functions nor defined anywhere in the install script. Is this something that was included post 3.0.4 that isn't there, breaking a 3.0.4 to 3.0.7 upgrade o...

Re: Massive CPU load peeks randomly How to pinpoint/throttle?

bump?

Someone out here has to have some kind of advice on how to track down malicious or innocent abusers no?

Anyone know of any methods to throttle sessions, IPs, etc so that a single person can't bring the box to it's knees?

[REQUEST] Processing Bounces

I've recently run into a swath of users who have their email addresses bouncing because their domains are no longer existent or their account has expired elsewhere. I'm thinking of writing a bounce processor that will allow for automatic deactivation, deactivation after a warning and X bounces, etc....

Re: Topic Solved

This MOD will require some rewriting to work with phpBB 3.0.4. Any bug reports or feature suggestions? I'm looking at this mod to give the OP the option to put [SOLD] [TRADED] [DELISTED] in front of their topics, and then subsequently lock the entire thread. Think it could be made to provide users ...

Re: [RC] Prime Subject Check

It'd be difficult for me to do it since I can't use mysql search. If someone else can come up with the code to do so then I'd be happy to include it. prime : As an alternative to those of us who prefer to use mysql would it possible to use native indexing just for the mod and mysql indexing for reg...

Re: [request] IP Tracking

I have a suggestion if anyone is considering this requested mod, which I would probably pay for if done right! A long time ago I made some horrible hacks to phpbb2 to see if the visitor had a certain obscure named cookie defined. if they didn't, we'd generate a cookie that expired in 2025 and assign...

I see the images in the preview in the ACP but they're failing in the registration page. Has anyone any idea what would cause this? The image place holders and the check boxes are all there, but the images are blank boxes. FINALLY! I've walked through the code on this and while a lot of the image m...
