Double viewtopic

Not that I require support necessarily, but I wanted to pass this along to the community since discovering it. I'm also not quite sure what the reasoning is behind it, other than to sabotage a website. It's currently my primary concern behind lost in ranking from Google's latest Panda update, so oth...

Re: Do you need to make a sitemap?

Poor advice IMO. Sitemaps are very helpful with a forum, and a dynamic one can be adjusted "dynamically" without the need to manually change it.

Re: Spam Problem on phpBB 3.0.2

rename posting.php to something else, and replace all instances in viewforum and viewtopic... kills them overnight.

Try a preg_replace in viewtopic, that should do what you want.

Re: Sitemap for phpbb3

Just from looking at your site, the dynamic URLs seem to still work... http://www.torneionline.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2611.php So if you just add a canacolization tag you should be fine.... It's not pretty but it gets the job done. That's why I stay away from URL rewriting in PHPBB, the compatibi...

Re: Sitemap for phpbb3

I think that this sitemap don't work with url rewriting. I want my sitemap with the name of topic not with: viewtopicxxxxx With your sitemap is possible? It doesn't display them as rewritten at this time... although it shouldn't matter because this isn't the end result of the process just the begin...

Re: Changing Link Codes

I do mine by preg_replacing in the viewtopic. You might wish to try that.

Re: auto sitemap php script

Well there's many positives. Example: Old post, someone replies w/ No sitemap: A SE will wait until it's queried or till it does a next deep crawl. Example, Same Old post & someone replies, but this time with a sitemap... A SE will see the immediate change in the datestamp and immediately que th...

What bloody kool-aid bowl you've been drinking from? They're perfect for dynamic sites that change frequently!

Re: cron.php?

Crons are normally operated in your cpanel, that said if you're trying to set up a sitemap, take a look at this...it should work fine, without the need for a chron.

Re: View Topic redirect phpBB2 to phpBB3

If Upgrading from a PHPBB 2.0 Board add this mod, otherwise skip: Open Viewtopic.php and find: // We overwrite $_REQUEST['f'] if there is no forum specified // to be able to display the correct online list. // One downside is that the user currently viewing this topic/post is not taken into account...
