Re: Stored password change

This is simply not true. [quote]There is no reason this should causer a problem when it comes to any kind of site integration as phpBB also contains functions specifically for checking the hash which can called via your login system.[/quote] This password hash is not compatible with Apache basic aut...

Stored password change

I'm wondering what the logic behind changing the way the users password is stored in the db was. This has completely broken my system and I imagine anyone else that has used phpbb for user management. I can understand wanting to make the md5 hash a bit more secure but a simple salt off the user_id w...

Re: help with phpbb3 integration

So phpBB has gone the same route as VB making the password unreadable by mod_auth_msql. I moved to phpBB3 because of this now its unusable.

Why not have just used a salt off the user_id?

Re: [DEV] Paid Subscriptions.

Hi could you please provide more information on exactly what and how you did this :) Thanks Sure. mod_auth_mysql uses the phpbb_users table username, password fields and group_id. Apache config looks like this: <Location /members/> AuthName "Secure Location" AuthType Basic AuthBasicProvider mysql A...

Re: [DEV] Paid Subscriptions.

I already have this. I use the phpbb db with mod_auth_mysql to auth users and a script "Ruby / mod_ruby" that my payment provider (Verotel TicketsClub) runs when a payment is made or when an account deletes. Works great, the script just changes the users default group. The default group Registered m...

Re: Upload group avatars memory exhausted

Further information. I have just tested uploading images via a post with no problem. Editing my php.ini to allow for 24MB of memory seems to have solved the problem. However should the scripts be consuming that much memory?

Upload group avatars memory exhausted

I was successful uploading one avatar then for each further attempt I received the following error: [Thu Aug 30 08:25:10 2007] [error] [client 192.168.1.5] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1966080 bytes) in /var/sites/public/forum/includes/utf/data/...

Re: confirmation code not showing aol users

Hi, thanks for getting back to me.

I have changed it from A.B.C to A.B. It may be awhile before these users report back to me. I have no way to test it.

Re: Disable board - can't enable

I had load level set to 5 which works fine with another (cough "vb" cough) board. Top tells me my loads are 100 to 150. I'm not sure php is reading levels correctly.

Regards,
Peter

[quote="SamG"]I it possible that the board is disabling itself through the “Limit system load” setting?[/quote]

YES that is exactly what was happening. Setting the level to 0 solved the problem.

Many thanks!! I thought I was going nuts.
