Re: Converting from ezboard to PHPBB...

Hi, it turns out to be a mistake on my end. The converter works fine as long as "Enable Quick Reply" is disabled in "Security Settings" for each forum to be moved.

Thanks

Re: Converting from ezboard to PHPBB...

Hi, I'm trying to use this latest.zip a couple posts above. It works for a lot of topics but a lot we are getting the following error: Error: Tag title> not found after position 19822. Starting tag of title> and </span> The positions are different per topic but the error, the tag it's looking for is...

You would be better off making your backups in phpmyadmin, or whatever software your host provides to manage your database. It would also be better to restore it there, but if the file is large (over 2 megs) you may need to use a script called bigdump to restore the database backup into the new db. ...

Without more information it's hard to say, but I had problems with the left pane of the admin panel showing corrupted (or binary) text a couple years ago, turned out the gzip option was messing it up, and the problem was solved by turning off gzip in the configuration page. Not saying it will help y...

Unless there is something seriously messed up in your template (as espicom suggested) this is definitely just one of those hosts that either can't handle forums or has screwed up their server.

I'd concur, change hosts, there's better out there.

Sorry, meant update_to_latest. Can you just clarify to me what "The only other time I see that error is when there is a space before of the the php tags at the beginning and end." means. Here is the content of my config.php: _ <?php // phpBB 2.x auto-generated config file // Do not change anything ...

First question, when you deleted the flashchat files did you also undo any edits to your phpbb files to integrate the two? Secondly, don't use the admin panel utility to backup or restore. Use phpmyadmin, it's much more reliable. Third, you shouldn't have had to restore a backup in this case. The er...

Yeah he said to replace "your-domain" with your actual domain. But the thing is, Da Undead is assuming you know the other step, to upload the changed files, all of them, overwriting your old files. Be aware, this method will only work if you have an unmodded board. If you have mods installed you nee...

Yeah what you need to do is finish updating, by running /install/update_to_latest.php from the current version's fileset. This will add those fields to your database. I've had it happen where a board I was updating failed under update_to_latest.php and this is usually because the mysql user for the ...

This is absolutely correct. You need to update to the current version immediately, there is no point in restoring your board until you are willing to do that as this or worse will just keep happening. You're actually very lucky. It looks like the bulk of your forum is still there. The crap they inse...

Not sure why your mysql user is locked at all, but the version quoted here is just scary. Your host should update to at least php 4.2.xx...

EDIT: I bet you mean phpmyadmin's version above... right? Seperate thing.

it should be in the same file, just use a find utility in your editor to search for that string.

That is a good mod, for some purposes, but it is not an easy install. I think if this person is having trouble with some html that he will have a lot more trouble editing php and running sql. :? @gilb29 - If you are making edits and nothing appears to change at all, be sure you are editing the corre...

The registration agreement is in /language/lang_english/lang_main.php and if i remember correctly it is around line 629. Just edit whatever you want inside of the quotes on that line, save it and reupload.

Keep a backup of course.
