Re: How to make your BBcodes show up in POSTS

I tested on your "Mom's forum"board signing on as user,"test" and password "testing". You are correct, the side panel does so show that "BBCode is on" when posting, but when I tried to use it (as for italics) in a post, the preview showed the code as typed and not the text in italic, so BBcodes don'...

Re: [RC] Registration Auth Code (RAC)

This is a remarkable MOD. It stopped spambots completely. It is amazing (we were getting 50 a day, now none). But, it also works to stop human spammers by allowing you to employ clever questions. To stop human spammers, I found that asking a question, whose answer is generally known by the local nat...

Re: two topics side by side?

I was excited to see the email that you had replied to this topic, Greenweaver (because, at first, I thought you had solved it). But, still it is good to know that you will be looking into it. I can assure you that this would be a welcome and most appreciated MOD by a lot of people. The forums "fix,...

Re: How to change the width of phpbb forum pages

I think that they were referring to the guy, who asked the question first, having already removed the phpbb copyright from his site, and in doing so, sort of violating the very principle outlined on his site, which is shown as, " Together we can make a difference." But, since his site seemed to be a...

Is there a way to take this to the topic level?

This is a great modification by Greenweaver. It works perfectly to display forums horizontally ...it's true plug-and-play. Is there any way to extend this down to the topics level?

I would like Topics horizontally (not just the forums).

I would be very interested in actually having topics side-by-side (not just the forums). The original post says topics.. but he was referring to forums. I must say, kudos to GreenWeaver, for the forum side by side display. It works perfectly. I am very pleased with that. But, the question of really ...

[Solved - thanks!] Eliminating lower right corner messages?

I am modifying the subSilver template (setting up a new forum). You can see what I am doing here: http://samredman.com/forum I want to get rid of the following in the lower right corner when a visitor is viewing a topic (like I was able to do when viewing a forum) : You cannot post new topics in thi...

Re: An elusive color change in subSilver

Yes it worked beautifully. I honestly cannot figure out what happened.. I tried this several times and it did not work.. then I rebooted.. and transferred everything again and it worked.

Thanks a lot... you were right, not a mystery, only mistakes on my part.

Re: An elusive color change in subSilver

I tried that (I had already changed that, but I did it again for test purposes) in the overall_header.tpl ... but, for me, making changes there in that line has no effect on the page. I even changed that to yellow to test it and it didn't show any changes.. http://samredman.com/forum (as you can see...

Re: An elusive color change in subSilver

Thanks, Thatbitextra, for your willingness to take a look at this problem. This is a board I am attempting to set up. Here is the link: http://samredman.com/forum I have ransacked the subSilver.css, the overall_header.tpl and the index_body.tpl, adding my color as a background in tables (bgcolor="#C...

[SOLVED! -thank you]]An elusive color change in subSilver

I am wanting to do a simple color customization of the subSilver style, so that all the colors match my website choices. Although what I need is seemingly simple, I have spent hours trying to do what I want and cannot achieve it, so I need the help of a professional. The task can be described most e...

This works:

bbcode:

Code: Select all

[iframe]{URL}[/iframe]
html replacement:

Code: Select all

<iframe src={URL} width="700" height="500"></iframe>
The text in the posting is as follows:

Code: Select all

[iframe]http://google.com[/iframe]
All is well... and thanks... that is very simple.

I tried yours... but I get this message: Your custom BBCode must contain both an opening and a closing tag. you probably want to use the {URL} tag rather than the {TEXT} tag, because this way you will get some validity check for the iframe. eg: [iframe={URL}][/iframe] <iframe src="{URL}" width="700"...

iframe

I have played with adding a bbcode for the html tag <iframe>. What I have done will work.... but, surely, those who really know how can show how to improve this: This is what I put into the admin panel "bbcode usage" form: [iframe]"{TEXT}"[/iframe] This is what I put into the admin panel "html repla...
