Re: Bigdump "page unavailable or wrong url" error

It appears to be working, although I need to do a few tweaks like restoring the original .htaccess to get it working properly.

Thanks for your help, Kevin! :)

Re: Bigdump "page unavailable or wrong url" error

You might have to ask the bigdump site about that one then. I wonder if it's timing out. Did you do the export with completed inserts ticked? That usually gets around that problem. I followed the instructions for the newer versions of phpMyadmin (which recommends that the "include column names in e...

Re: Bigdump "page unavailable or wrong url" error

Ah, couple of things in the KB article that I haven't tried yet. I haven't changed the CHMOD to 777 and I haven't altered the $delaypersession variable either (although this isn't something I have ever had to alter in the past).

Will give those a whirl though.

Re: Bigdump "page unavailable or wrong url" error

What's the exact message? It sounds like you haven't got the files where you think you have. You should have your .sql file and the bigdump.php in the same folder. In your browser just go to yoursite.com/thefoldername You'll see the bigdump.php file. Click that and it'll start up and ask you to sel...

Re: [RC2] phpBB Mobile 2.0.0

I've just visited your demo site with my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy running Gingerbread) and it's looking good! A couple of things. I have a very vocal minority who dislike any kind of mobile theme and prefer to view the desktop version on their smartphone. Can you put on a "switch to desktop vie...

Re: All topic authors showing as Guest

We don't support phpBB-SEO you need to ask them. Gee, thanks for that, considering that it has NOTHING to do with phpBB-SEO and everything to do with a tool included in your own support kit! Helpful much? Thankfully, I've found the solution myself: http://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/official_tool/st...

Re: [RC] Buttons menu MOD 2.1.1 + drop down

I have this up and running on my test board and it looks great. 8-) However, I have just changed the Wordpress front end of my site and I'd like to use the Buttons menu on the header there and on static HTML pages so that there is a consistent look throughout the site. What are the bits of code I wo...

Re: [REQUEST] Facebook Connect - phpBB3 bridge MOD

I've seen forums that have done this successfully (the Mafia Wars game application has a phpbb that has acheived this) but couldn't figure out how to do this myself. It's a vBulletin board, if you're talking about the official Zynga one. vBulletin users have had the Facebook Connect facility for a ...

Re: Spam Bots Attacking! Please Help!

Just out of interest, and this is not conclusive proof.... I've just changed all my Q&A questions, and in the last 6 hours, I've not had a single spammer register. This tends to indicate that they are not bypassing the Q&A, but have simply compiled a set of answers, that will, after enough tries, g...

Re: Spam Bots Attacking! Please Help!

Woke up this morning to see a few bots had got through reCaptcha. Have reinstated Q&A with new questions and it's held up so far. I've never known such a relentless and persistent attack as the past few days though - there must be a new breed of bot out there.

Re: Spam Bots Attacking! Please Help!

I look up the IPs in stopforumspam.com, and if they're listed I block the single IP. I don't usually like to block IP ranges, as it can block many legit users as well, but from certain countries (which are known for spam and are unlikely to offer legit users) I sometimes do block the IP range too. ...
