No, the database shouldnt contain the tables, because your backup includes "CREATE TABLE" queries, which create the tables for you when performing the backup. You could do it with the tables already added to your database, but then you should first edit your backup file and remove the "CREATE TABLE"...

The definition of "good mods" really depends on what you find useful and what you think is a good add-on for your site. There are some modification which are being used by a lot of sites, such as the EasyMod (beta though), attachments mod and some more, but still it's your own opinion that counts mo...

I think this is a very interesting idea, and I am curious to see how such system would run, and ofcourse, how the visitors like the system. You would have to get used to it, though, but I think once it's running properly and the user database has grown to a proper size, this could work out nicely.. ...

As for what happened when the 1 -> 2 upgrade happened was support for 1.x was totally dropped because it was iirc difficult to maintain and much more prone to security breeches. 2.0.x will continued to be maintained with the release of 3.0 however as it has a much further reach and it still a very ...

Hi, No offense at all, but actually I think it is your fault the forums are hacked. You didn't update your forums, even though there have been major bug fixes (just read the news..). That is your choice, but in this situation it is your fault as you are responsible for keeping your forums up-to-date...

Hi,

phpBB doesn't use files for data, but it uses a database. If you have phpMyAdmin, or a similar tool, installed on your server, check the phpbb_config table and look for "config_name" is "server_path".

Hope this helps.

Perhaps you should consider keeping your forums up-to-date? The latest version is 2.0.18, it must be yonks ago you last upgraded your board..

Hi,

The site administrator might have changed only your user title, and not your actual rank. I suggest you send a line to your site administrator and ask if he's really sure he changed your status instead of just the title.

Cheers
