Re: parameter

Take a look in functions.php and see how parameters are handled for index.php, ucp.php for example.

Re: Page URL = canonical link

bad for SEO since search robots have to crawl 2 times more pages, creating a load on the server. You're right. There is no point for bots to crawl the search.php other than use up resources. The search page does not contain content to be indexed, it has links to follow, but that's kind of kind of t...

Re: 3.3 upgrade successes

I'm glad to see so many not have issues updating. I'm always fucking something up.. too old for this shit, man. I wish I had over an hour a day to deal with this BS but I don't. On a positive note, 3.2.8 files play nice with 3.3.0 database.

I remember reading Marian around here long before she became a phpbb team member.

May she rest in peace.

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.2.6 Release

As always, since long as I can remember, updating is never a simple step with phpbb

Hopefully by 2030 the software will include a self-update feature, kinda like Wordpress.

Re: Why would it ask me to remove /install/ if I'm...updating!?

Why would I delete the install folder if I'm trying to enter it to update?

I'm not able to update is what I'm trying to get at.

Why would it ask me to remove /install/ if I'm...updating!?

Please delete, move or rename the install directory before you use your board. If this directory is still present, only the Administration Control Panel (ACP) will be accessible.

Why?

Re: [Split] Extension for - Friendly URL ?

It's really bad for SEO for having posts' URL with "?" string Why, can you please explain? ... But what if a single webpage URL with the string "?" on it. Google doesn't recognize any string(s) after the "?". Take for example this page's URL I checked on Google. It won...

Re: SEO URLs

I'd rather see this as an extension by someone is who passionate/enjoys what heshe is coding and not having to bother, poke or rush dev team with something like this.
why because it may come out looking like the /app/ deal seen in the current software-- ugly af.

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.2.1 released

Yeah for some reason on Chrome browser the forum icons look blurry on localhost or on this website unless I Ctrl and + to enlarge view, then the images are sharp. no issue with FF though.
