How can I know the username inside includes/bbcode.php?

Hi - another easy question...

Inside the file includes/bbcode.php, how can I know the current user's username?

Thx in advance!

Why can't you redirect to a forum?

Hi all. Sorry if this has been covered - I tried to search, but the search page doesn't seem to be working for me this morning... Whenever you post a message to a topic, or delete one from a topic, you get the 'Your message has been posted/deleted' message - which allows you to click on one of two h...

Ok, I fixed that 'img' problem by replacing the two regular expressions with this one:

Code: Select all

$message = ( !empty($message) ) ? preg_replace('(img\])', 'url]', $message) : '';

ok, got this working, but i found an esoteric bug:

if the URL has the string 'img' in it, that will be replaced with 'url'...this was my test picture's URL:

I have a question on whether or not this could be done, or if a MOD that does this already exists: I would like a 'hidden text' MOD that only allows specified users to open the text. I'm imagining that you could specify all users you want to allow in the 'title' of the tag, then the code would check...

Ok, so the group whose permissions I wanted to specify has an ID of 11 in the groups table. And the forum_id of the forum I want them to have this power in is 8. So, I just look in the user_group table for a row that has a user_id of the current user and a group_id of 11, and then if that row exists...

Wait, I did that (set everything else to 'Admin'), and they still have access to Delete and IPAddress. But aside from that bug, wouldn't they still have access to the 'You can moderate this forum' section where they can move, lock and unlock topics? Or is there a preset way to keep them from that se...

DOH!

Ya, I'm an idiot - I'm willing to admit that. I just realized that I simply set the forum permissions that I don't want Mods to have to Admin.

Sorry - Thx for the help!

But what if 'Edit' is the only Mod feature that I want them to have? I couldn't see a way to limit a Mod's permissions to only let them edit - but I could be dumb and looking in the wrong places...

Give a usergroup Edit permissions

Hi All! Is there a way, either already built into PHPBB or a MOD I can perform, that would allow a usergroup to have Edit permissions on all posts in a forum and not just their own? in viewtopic.php I found this: if ( ( $userdata['user_id'] == $poster_id && $is_auth['auth_edit'] ) || $is_auth['auth_...
