Re: parse error unexpected $end on line 173

I made sure the template was uploaded in binary mode and refreshed it again to no avail. Then I clicked on Cache and deleted just the index_body template and finally, it worked. Now I wonder if I dare try adding the ads again :) Thanks to all who helped!

Re: parse error unexpected $end on line 173

Here's the index_body file I'm using: <!-- INCLUDE overall_header.html --> <!-- IF U_MCP --> <div id="pageheader"> <p class="linkmcp">[ <a href="{U_MCP}">{L_MCP}</a> ]</p> </div> <br clear="all" /><br /> <!-- ENDIF --> <!-- IF not S_USER_LOGGED_IN --> <br clear="all" /> <form method="post" action="{...

Re: parse error unexpected $end on line 173

Hi Karl, I tried that but it didn't work. I was still able to log on to my admin panel and try to refresh the template, I'm just still getting an error instead of index.php. (viewtopic and viewforum are working fine.) This time the error is: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/theory...

parse error unexpected $end on line 173

I wanted to add GoogleAds to my header without violating AdSense TOS, so I used a template conditional to load the AdSense code only if it was the index, viewforum, or viewtopic: <!-- IF S_INDEX --> <tr> <td colspan="2" align="center"> <script type="text/javascript"><!-- google_ad_client = "pub-xxxx...

Re: How to Add a Sidebar in prosilver Tutorial

Thanks mej284, I got it working. Do you know where to read more about phpBB3 template conditionals and control structures?

Re: How to Add a Sidebar in prosilver Tutorial

How can we make it load different HTML files (or none at all) based on what page the user is on? For instance, I'd like AdSense ads displayed on the index, viewforum and viewtopics pages, but other text or my own ads on non--ccontent pages.

Re: [RC2] Anti Bot Question

I installed this mod on four or five different forums, and with one exception they're all working perfectly. The only problem is that on one of them , even when the user answers the question correctly, it blocks the registration with at least one if not more of the following error messages: - the em...

port of NoSpam mod?

I would love it if someone would port over the NoSpam! mod from vBulletin. It's an alternative to CAPTCHA that allows you to set questions and answers to be randomly asked during registration, and if the given answer doesn't match registration is denied. Even something as simple as "Type the word 'b...

Er, just realized I haven't made that template public yet. Well, just picture the standard viewtopic page where all posts are on a white background, but the borders of the table still retain the color I designated.

table row color not coloring posts

I'm trying to finish a Christmas template for my site, but though I've changed "Table Row Colour 1" and "Table Row Colour 2" the background for the posts on viewtopic is always white. The colors show up fine on the forum index though, and they're on the stylesheet when I view source. I've tried it w...

Search engine optimization methods... which is best?

I've been using the Able2Know SEO mod on my forums for some time now, and this morning heard about SEO Master . So I did a search here in hopes of finding out more about it and found [BETA] SEO Urls V2 . The two look pretty similar to my untrained eye, can anyone tell me what the differences are and...

trouble changing background colors of posts

I'm trying to change the colors of my template (using subSilver as the base) and have run into a problem. I've changed Table Row Color 1 and Table Row Color 2 to shades of purple, and it looks fine on the index pages , but when viewing topics the posts all have white backgrounds. I don't know what I...
