Re: [19/02/07] Categories Hierarchy

I have made a new style for CH called bluewave. You can download it from Here . It is a basic generic style based on ptifo template with new buttons, new header and some animated new post & pm icons. I will be doing them in different colours as & when I get time. Please let me know what you ...

Simply post a reply into it.
However if it is your forum, then just make it sticky & it will stay at the top. Edit the original post & click post topic as sticky.

I am new to all this what is BBcode?

This will explain BB code http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/faq.php#21

The fact that a lot of people who use a forum don't know about BB code is what makes the attachment mod such a good idea :)

I have ads on other pages on my site which serve ads to help pay for the hosting. I also rotate the ad code so that my forum moderators can also have their ads displayed & get something back for their efforts. It just about pays for hosting, nothing more but thats good enough for me. The banner ...

Even if there was another way, you'd still have to have a seperate forum for each client which I assume would be quite time consuming to manage and easy to slip up with..

They can hotlink to remotely hosted images using BB code, or you can install the attachment mod which will allow them to post images from their own computer. Do a search for it in the mods section. :)

I always install the Categories Hierachy mod for boards that I install. The main idea of that mod is to enable sub-forums & sub-categories e.t.c. but it also has other extra security bundled with it (I don't know what exactly). I have not had one single spam post ever. There was one guy who kept...

Yes they can, but asking everyone to use BB code every time they post a link won't work because not many people can be bothered to learn how to use it, and besides, many people on my forum are not very internet savvy anyway.

I'd rather have the script just display links in this way if I can.

Thanks.

Changing how links are displayed

I noticed on a forum on a website (not a phpBB) that when users paste a url in a post, the script just displays >>LINK<< I was told I need to edit bbcode.tpl to make this happen on my board, but I can't figure out what to change it to. This is the line that needs altering.. <!-- BEGIN url --><a href...
