membership requests for usergroups

My forum is a continuous upgrade from version 1.x About 6 months ago (or so) I upgraded from 3.0 to 3.2 (3.3) (3.3 came out at exactly that time, and I did a 3.2 > 3.3 upgrade) I managed to get through most of the teething problems. Because of the private nature of my forums, I control all access to...

Re: uprgraded to 3.3, found a new avenue for porn spam

Okay Guys,

Sorry about that. I just disabled the contact page from the forum ACP.

However, heads up. This is an annoying avenue to fill up the admin's inbox with spam.

uprgraded to 3.3, found a new avenue for porn spam

Hey Guys, phpBB has been a part of my company's website since before I inherited it in 2005 (version 1 back in those days). It has been updated through version 2 to version 3, and has been resting at version 3.0 for a few years now. I just finished the upgrade to 3.3 a few weeks ago. I have successf...

Conversion of old passwords on initial login

Converted from phpBB2 to 3 The forums are included inside a larger website, using phpBB3 session handling. If a user logs in for the first time from the index page of the forums, the password is converted from the old md5 hash to the new hash. IF the user logs in from the index page of the site, thi...

ACP login issue - resolved

This is a very strange, but specific error. Installed 3.0.4 as an upgrade to a 2.x forum. forum root is '/phpBB3/' Install went just fine, and the conversion went fine, as well. Successfully logged in as myself (admin level) editting settings in the ACP. Adding styles, etc. Shutdown the browser, and...

search function wont work with old posts

:geek: I maintain an older phpBB forum. Running version 1.4 from about Oct 2001 I just redid my website completely, and brought my forum software up to version 2.022 Not wanting to lose the previous 6 years of posts from my 20,000 users, I did a lot of custom edits to get users, Categories, Forums, ...

Update by hand

Alright, It seems my only recourse is to do this update by hand, trying to preserve the records I have. So: I have imported my user records I have imported / recreated my forums and categories. I have imported 20,000 posts, and 20,000 post_texts I have re-synced my database. Having done that, I went...

What is supposed to happen at/after initial drops?

I am trying to upgrade an old 1.4.2 install to the newest 2.0 version. I select the "upgrade" option, and supply it all the needed info. it changes to a page stating it is doing initial drops. It then goes back to the very first page, asking me to enter my information again. if I give it the informa...

Error Solved

I now use SubBlack as my default theme.

It has the file confirm_body.tpl inside the /templates/SubBlack folder.

make_filename() is expecting it inside /templates/SubBlack/Admin Folder

Copying the file fixes the problem

I attempt to delete one of my installed Glass Themes. Now, I did rename SubSilver, using the Admin Styles menu. (this, of c...

auth_ fields in forums table

Is there a resource to connect the information stored in the forums table to the real world?

Before I make any changes to the data stored in various phpbb_tables, I would like to know what it means.

So, any references that list auth_view = '2' means X would just killer.
