Re: [RC] phpBB Gallery

Unless you make a proper effort to set $mode to 'main' instead of "config_sample', you'll never be able to find it with this beautiful code

Code: Select all

		switch ($mode)
		{
			case 'main':
				$vars = $this->get_display_vars('main');
			break;
		}

Method 2. Relative-path

Method 2. Relative-path @import with selective replacement as described in Creating & Modifying Styles is faulty for it does not accommodate for responsive.css or tweaks.css files These two files are loaded via conditional header links, not via stylesheet.css. For these two files to load properly, ...

LOL! President Obama had said, actually promised, lots of things and did nothing about them or, worse, did exact opposite. No hope for that dope.

Interesting. I am not a lawyer, but I have a snicking suspicion that discussing pedophilia, or any other crime for that matter, can not possibly be illegal.

Enviroment check

Suppose there is an integrated installation of phpBB3. Now the call can come either from phpBB or from the integrated, encapsulating application. I'd like to have the ability to make some templating changes depending on where the call comes from. Is there a way to tell if a particular page is called...

Re: Heads up, y'all! - New spammers' tactics.

I've updated the snipped to be a POC of just this. The script now looks for the actual link to the registration page (as a user would do) and than determines the link. It no longer matters what the link looks like of what it points to. Great, I'll look at it tomorrow. I am starting to doubt whose s...

Re: Heads up, y'all! - New spammers' tactics.

First of all, I love how you put up a new detraction without as much as a nod to validity of mine. You just keep piling them up, but that's OK. At some point you need to inform the user where the registration page is, at that point you can programmatically parse the page and find the correct like. Y...

Re: Heads up, y'all! - New spammers' tactics.

Not necessarily. When you started to notice bots regularly getting through, you could just add five more questions. That would reduce the chances of them getting the one that they knew. Of course, total replacement would give you more certainty that bots would be stopped for a while, but it's not s...

Re: Heads up, y'all! - New spammers' tactics.

Ah I didn't get that you wanted an example. Here you go: https://gist.github.com/1669519 That was less than 10 minutes work. It is mighty nice of you to whip out all this code. I see it relies on finding 'mode=register'. What happens if we ask of phpbb to have re-nameable registration form too? Wha...

Re: Heads up, y'all! - New spammers' tactics.

There isn't really any way of knowing which questions are broken and which are still good since phpBB doesn't have any reporting on that. This might be a good idea for a MOD - to capture and associate the ID of the answered question with the user registered. This will tell you if the bots like some ...
