Re: Stop Spambot Registration

It's very late but for stopping spam bot registration I installed to our forum. It does not work.

It asks me the question but even with a false answer it accepts the registration.

Here is a test forum.

It can be possible. Because AMSN for linux uses the same database of MSN.

So it means they have API for MSN.

But how ever marrying it with PHP should be very hard.

After restore when I check with phpmyadmin everything is good. Latin5 characters are shown as good as they are  Bu...

PHPBB is very easy to to install and make some simple changes.

As a technical admin of a forum (not administrative) I can advise you PHPBB.

Especially R:0.22 seems to be more strong.(to be hacked)

I splitted the backup file into between 2 mbs files

But don't forget to add at the begining of each files to add

use <your database_filename> (as wirtten in your back up)

It worked with me (It's just an idea cause I could not realize it with bigdump, and I don't know why ?!)

After moving the phpBB2 directory to /home/ismail/public_html instead of /var/www/localhost/htdocs/phpBB2 and changing the mod to "chmod -R 777 phpBB2"

Everything is worked.

Thnx again for the suggestion

1) Create new database (with phpmyadmin) 2) Install you phpBB2 (It will creates the tables) 4) With phpmyadmin or mysqladmin restore your database(remember that phpmyadmin is limited max 8192 kb), mysqladmin can do more but I don't advise you this. 5) run update_to_latest under the install folder.
