Re: conversion problem: phpbb 2.0.23 -> phpbb 3.0.2

The converter will skip the search tables automatically. You can recreate them later at the admin panel

Re: Open Link in New Window

yeah, I found the problem.
the url I tested it with was detected as a local url
forum.cheatengine.org is my old forum and cheatengine.org/forum2 is the new one, and it picked up the first url as a local url, and thus got handled by the MAGIC_URL_LOCAL case

Re: Open Link in New Window

I tried it as well, but got another bug, url's without a url-tag didn't get opened in a new window (and I didn't skip the first part "Modifying auto-detected links", and I also didn't forget to purge all cache) e.g: it comes out as usual: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://forum.cheatengine....

Last part conversion

It'll take arround 3 days for my forum to convert to 3.0.2, but I don't feel like closing down the forum all that time. Is it possible to passively convert the forum to php 3.0.2, and when that is done actually close the site for a few hours and update the last few added posts, users ? Or should I j...

Limiting global mod

I'm trying to convert from phpbb2 to 3 but having some slight moderator trouble. Because only a global mod can warn and ban people I'll have to make all my moderators a global mod. But I want them limited to only 2 or 3 sections of the forum (so not able to edit/delete other sections) I really can't...

Moderator warns+bans (+expiring)

I'm looking for a mod where a moderator that only moderates one sub-forum can warn people that post in there, and warn them for a specific amount of days. Up till the person he warns has reached a specific amount of warnings, in which case he can specify how long the ban will be (limited by a minimu...

Re: Error converting 2.0.23 to 3.0.1 (Segmentation fault)

I've found the cause of this problem. when there is a too long word it'll cause this crash. (e.g: a word consisting out of 4000 characters and no place to split it up) Now the problem, is there any sql query that can edit those posts without taking 80 years to complete, or is there a way to fix the ...

Re: Error converting 2.0.23 to 3.0.1 (Segmentation fault)

This segmentation error pops up every 100000 posts, but I don't know what's causing this. If I knew I could probably do a query and edit/delete the offending topics to speed it up. It's also hard to find out exactly which "skip_rows" value is enough (I try to keep as much as possible)

Error converting 2.0.23 to 3.0.1 (Segmentation fault)

I've been trying to convert my old forum to phpbb3.0.1 but it is failing at :"index.php?mode=convert&sub=in_progress&tag=phpbb20¤t_table=15&skip_rows=85533&language=en" it causes white screen and if I look in the error log it has as error: [notice] child pid 14987 exit signal Segmentation faul...

How to enable use of word_common in search_wordlist?

Hi, my forum is getting pretty huge and I see that the search_wordmatch table has grown to 70MB and the wordlist table is pretty huge as well. I read somewhere that the word_common flag in the wordlist table can be used to cut down on common wordmatches, and it should also flag those common words it...

Or is there a way to limit registered people online at a time? (after making my forum readable by registered people only)

Or is there a way to prevent the number of users from crashing the host?

user limiter

My forum is crashing the vps it's on because it's getting flooded by users. Now was I wondering if I could limit the number of people visiting at once.(e.g set a limited number of sessions and when full give the user the message to wait a while)

here's a fix that'll get rid of the never ending loop for tarb users posting: # #-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------ # posting.php # #-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------ # $template->assign_vars(array( 'META' => $return_meta) ); message_die(GENERAL_MESSAGE, $r...
