Re: Cloudflare Confusion.

Disregard. Found out that the founder (no longer active but still has the domain registration) sent our DNS there. For the record, CloudFlare only seems to hurt performance of PHPBB3... which I would fully expect. Add routing and request time, while only caching images from the domain and scripts.

Cloudflare Confusion.

From what I've read about this, nothing should be changing without me actively going out and signing up for Cloudflare services. I have a 3.07-PL1 forum that has been untouched and now cloudflare is showing up all over for me. 1. On my FF, I have "No-Script" plugin and without making any changes sud...

Re: Cyrillic letters in database - phpBB2 <-> phpBB3

Lots of different situations in here... Anyone care to recommend the definitive solution for special chars? Mine should be a simple convert. I'm on VPS so I have full access to the DB's. Both are UTF-8 with utf8_general_ci collation, so I'd think it would be trouble free. Tried the convert as writte...

Re: Email error filling error log

I'm chasing similar issues. I have a 3.0RC5 running fine but my new 3.0.4 with identical SMTP settings throws the socket error. They run on the same host, same PHP, same php.ini, going to the same SMTP service/port, and I even tried using the same login. Still troubleshooting though. Any way, from y...

Or... if anyone has tips on debug for the converter. Whatever is dumping the row migration reporting should be able to print out more info with a couple extra statements.

Re: Tracking threads/posts

Thanks... I'll do some tests to see how much it logs in that table. I'm at 500M with indexing and was looking for ways to trim and prevent it from growing.
*Wasn't sure if this rose to the level of "support". My bad.

Tracking threads/posts

Just can't find it. I know there's a feature that is tracking new threads using the back end. Also it gives you a different icon for threads you've posted to with an image called "topic_link" (adds a little dot on the stock styles). On my test conversion, I set it to do that, but with all the traffi...

Re: Enable GZip compression on phpBB3

Yeah, those search index tables double your DB size. And after converting 400k posts from phpBB2 to 3, and deleting 100k of those, my phpBB3 DB is still bigger! If your board is well organized, you probably have some forums that don't need to be searched. You can choose not to include them in your i...

Re: It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image

PowWeb claims my allow_url_fopen is on with the default php.ini for PHP4, but the sizing didn't work. I used the code hack listed above with some success. It does the trick but if you point it to a huge image that busts that 64000 limit, it gives the blank page crash for me. Might freak out the boar...

Re: Problems converting from 2.0.19 to 3.0.0

Well those ini settings took me from a 500 error to a blank page. I guess that's progress? I did the install/convert local and it was so smooth. When I imported the DB and the files, I got the 500. So I tried an online conversion... 500. Memory maybe? I think I'll go back to the import and troublesh...

Re: Convert phpBB 3 b2 database to b5?

Once RC1 is out, I'll be in that boat with you. If I successfully script it I'll surely share. But I'm not attempting until then and I would imagine it will be a migration script, not an upgrade script.

Sweet so far. Install was a breeze and the features are looking nice. I can see there will be a bit of a learning curve in the new control panels but once found, the features are simplified so it's a wash. Though it's not recommended for production, I'm starting a new board from scratch this weekend...
