Re: Setting defaults for registered users

Thank you so much. We appreciate now knowing where those default selections are found. We always appreciate learning how to better use this system. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Setting defaults for registered users

We have two boards, one uses version 3.1.9 and the other uses 3.2.1. However, we have been using phpBB for many years and in all of the versions of the program, we have never seen how to set these two items for all newly registered users—we have always set these two items manually. In the Administra...

Re: Host changed something that crashed phpBB

We solved that problem. The host finally corrected the changes they made and the forum began working perfectly again. Thus, we got a good copy of the working system and the database in preparation for upgrading to phpBB 3.2.

We'll let you know how that one works out.

Re: Host changed something that crashed phpBB

A link to the new board at Bluehost would be helpful. What you might be missing is something in the error_log at Bluehost, which is accessible through your cPanel account at Bluehost. The new board is: wayofkingsforum The error log shows no errors. When the url is submitted to the browser, the brow...

Re: Host changed something that crashed phpBB

There is no conversion. There is no difference. As of yesterday we were finally able to get the host (Daily Razor) to fix the problem they created back in December and our original forum is working again. However, we still need to migrate our old phpBB 3.0.11 forum from the Daily Razor hosted Micro...

Re: Host changed something that crashed phpBB

Have you looked in cPanel at the server error log? If there is no traceback displayed when attempting to load the board that is usually an indication of a server error that is reported in the server error log. Is the link in the original post still valid for this new instance? If so, I was able to ...

Re: Host changed something that crashed phpBB

you are apparently using php 5.2.6 phpbb 3.1 requires at least 5.3.3 probably the best thing you can do is take your database backup that you have,or get a new one from your host ( since you are running on a windows server, I have no idea how you would get a new backup ) and import it into a new bl...

Re: Host changed something that crashed phpBB

you are apparently using php 5.2.6 … also, unless you are running asp scripts for some reason on your website, I would not get a windows server at bluehost. If you already have, then ask them to switch it over to linux hosting . you will be much better off. rob ert Thanks Rob: That is exactly what ...

Re: Host changed something that crashed phpBB

What version is the existing forum? Looks like it must be 3.0.x. Why do you think the host did something? Is the database backup current, or is it missing later data? Sadly, given that we cannot access our control panel, we don't know how to recheck the current phpBB version; howerve, it is for sur...
