Re: Mandatory fields on registration page?

Not how it happened on my website. I got spammed by them actually posting in the forum.

However, after installing the RAC mod I got rid of all the spammers. Just need to get it for my phpbb3.

Re: Mandatory fields on registration page?

I don't think so. Spammers tend to spam when posting (posting links) not just referring to their www link.

Re: Mandatory fields on registration page?

I see, thank you.

I wonder why as many people would consider their website pretty vital information to pass on to other users.

I guess the upside is it might force users to go to their UCP and actually select an avatar.

Re: Mandatory fields on registration page?

I'm not sure I understand.

So you're saying that in phpbb3 it's now standard that website and location DO NOT appear when registering as a new user?

And there's no way of make website & location appear on the registration page?

Mandatory fields on registration page?

phpbb3.0 http://www.lydmaskinen.dk I can't find or select mandatory fields for the registration page (except for the custom profile fields I've created myself). There is no way to type in your website etc. when registering as a new user right now. The options simply don't appear. Is this standard or...

Re: anti spammer question

After installing the RAC MOD I get 0% spammers registered now as opposed to about 40 per week.

Thanks. For now I blocked the Google bots though that'll dump my Google rating.

Ok, thank you very much.

So this would be my host I should talk to about allowing more simulatneous visitors?

There's usually a maximum of 6 users at any time, but then the Google crawlers are there like 34 at the same time. Could that be the reason?

The problem is already fixed this morning, perhaps the error was due to a host server error, which they fixed now.

I wonder why it happened after deleting the massive 99 pages thread. Is there generally a problem with deleting or handling huge threads?

Aha, you're getting this when trying to register but not when just reading the forum or already registered.

Hm, I should try contacting my host.
