Re: Always Show 'Last edited by' for Moderators edits

Hi t_backoff, Thanks for the reply. I changed the code and it does now insert the 'Edited By' info but it does this for all edits, so the OP also shows the edited by even if there are no replies as yet. Previously the OP could edit without this entry until someone replied. To test this I used the ba...

Always Show 'Last edited by' for Moderators edits

Is there a way to force the Last edited by entry in a post when a Moderator edits someone's post, even if they do not enter a reason. So, Last edited by The Jak-L on Tuesday 15 February 2011 13:21, edited 1 time in total. I have this enabled in Post Settings, but that's just puts the Last Edited by ...

Re: Display last edited time information:

Is this still valid for 3.0.7-PL1?

I tried today, quickly mind, but did not get any 'Edited by' entry in the post if the Reason was left Blank.

Or is it theme specific? Though I did just change themes about and no joy (just in case the edits I made still do work.)

Thanks.

Aye, I think that's the part I've blown out... :(

Will have to check my backups later, unless there's a template of what it should look like and I can put in the details and test...

Re: Am being told to read install.html after updating

Just done the same here... should have had more Coffee! I think I downloaded the complete phpBB-3.0.7-PL1 package and pushed up ALL the files, rather than just the Aut Installer with the Updated files only. Have just gone to: http://www.phpbb.com/downloads/olympus.php?update=1 - chose 3.0.6 and push...

Re: Check Topic Case

Whoohoo, worked a treat. Thanks :!: Yup, tis a little big but was for just one person that kept posting HEADLINE topics and then more when I'd said I thought they looked outta place with the other posts... Oh well, he's a Journo and a friend, so what do you expect :) Really appreciate you taking the...

Re: Check Topic Case

this may or may not work. i did a quick search for "trigger_error" and it looks like it's commonly used for generating error messages. try replacing this,       $error[] = ' <b><font size="5" color="red">No HEADLINES please...</font></b>';   with this, trigger_error('<b><font size="5" color="red">N...

Re: Check Topic Case

Hi DavidIQ, so I tried this:             $message .= '<br /><br />' . sprintf($user->lang['RETURN_FORUM'], '<a href="' . append_sid("{$phpbb_root_path}viewforum.$phpEx", 'f=' . $data['forum_id']) . '">', '</a>');             trigger_error($message);         }     } } // Check subject if (!empty($pos...

Re: I am new, need to Know a little

I think you're after Ranks. These can be set as Custom and assigned manually,if you set to Special Rank Yes, or Based on the number of posts if Special Rank set to No (though I've not used the latter option).

You can do this via the ACP --> UserGroups --> Manage Ranks

Bot Permissions: Can view profiles, memberlist & online list

I'm seeing the Google bot visit our forum quite a bit now, but have set the permissions to stop bots hitting the Memberslist by using the: Can view profiles, memberlist and online list = No. Or at least that's what I thought I was doing when setting this to no, but when seeing the Google [Bot] onlin...

Re: Check Topic Case

Thanks for the reply DavidIQ. I had a look in there but could not see anything obvious (at least to the learning Code Dabbler that I am). I saw that there's a check for a value for the Subject in posting.php, which if blank prints out the 'EMPTY_SUBJECT' - or at least that's where I think the check ...

Re: [RC1] Registration Auth Code (RAC)

So far, just registered but no actual post as yet... but it was the random name that made me check and then I saw that the IP was from China. Previously I used the RAC MOD, though the Password was not published on the forum itself, which sorted this out completely. Thanks for the suggestion and info...

Re: [RC1] Registration Auth Code (RAC)

first, I believe that the registration system in phpbb3 keeps most of the spammers out anyway. second, with the phpbb3 ability to create new required fields on the register page, you don't need a MOD to do it. that is all this MOD does is create a new required field on the register page and tell yo...

Check Topic Case

Hi, I would like to stop Topics being submitted with UPPERCASE, I'd used this code on my Version 2... board:     // Check subject     if (!empty($subject))     {         $subject = htmlspecialchars(trim($subject));          if(strtoupper($subject) == $subject)              {                    $erro...
