Our forum initially started on a free-hosted forum, but unfortunately the date wasn't brought over when we started a year later with a copy of our own software. ...

Re: Auto Groups

Hi Jelly, I am after some help - today one of my Moderators hit 5000+ posts, and for some reason the autogroups MOD keeps setting the 5000+ group as her default one every time she makes a new post... the Moderator usergroup should stay her default one, though. In between her posts I have to keep mov...

Re: [ALPHA] ACP April Fools Prank (STG Style)

Just wanted to drop in and say thanks to those responsible for this MOD, it worked a treat on our forum! Coupled with the fact I changed all regular users to a dud Admin usergroup (colour, rank etc) and staff to a dud "banned" one, they all fell for it pretty fast! As soon as I changed it ...

Re: New PM notification probs after upgrading

At this stage it looks like we will be converting to commercial forum software very soon. Whilst I am grateful for the voluntary support that the PHPBB team has provided here most of the time, especially for what I understand completely is free software, its just getting to the point where I am need...

Re: Invalid Form error

Thank you Karl for your information, I have just gotten talking live to the member in question about this problem and after some fiddling around with settings, it sure enough appears to be an IE issue. She tested Firefox and that is working without any posting problems :) So thanks again for helping...

Re: Post count static for new user

Check the permissions set for each of your forums, make sure that the option "increment post counter" is set to YES for the user & the usergroup that new members are added to.

If this is turned off then posts are not counted within the sections the permission is set OFF for.

Re: Forum went Blank All of a Sudden

You are very lucky. When this happened to our forum a few months ago I had to start over, apparently the forum software had died and was no longer connecting to the database!
