Re: How do I make a UCP module?

like, you copy and pasted the code?

if not, look very closely for typos ... one thing that held mine up was cat accidentally being spelt ... cai or something similiar, i can't remember exactly.

Re: How do I make a UCP module?

ah, then there was probably a glitch in your module ... I had that problem when i first tried to make an ACP module.

Try and paste your two classes in here so we can see if there is a syntax error or something?

Re: How do I make a UCP module?

ohhh, okay. They need to go to the admin panel -> system tab -> user control panel (this is on the left hand side menu near the bottom of the list). That will take them to the area where they can add a module. working with Modules work like managing forums. You have a tab category. and then you have...

permissions issues

Okay, i have a love/hate relationship with these modules.... I've successfully made a module for my admin control panel. I also found a tutorial showing my how to use the API to add in a new permission, so i now have a permission called "a_edit_website". In my module, i've assigned that as the autho...

Re: Safe Mods

in my opinion, if your installing a non-validated phpBB mod, you better know enough about PHP to be able to undo it yourself/and or try to correct any errors it creates. if NOT, then you should only use VALIDATED phpbb mods, which obviously if they are validated will rarely if ever have any issues. ...

Re: phpbb3 posting text box

Thank you for the startling fact of wisdom, of not reinventing the wheel, but in this case, phpBB3 has TWO portal mods in development, neither of which have static pages. So before you start spouting off phpBB2 wisdom, when almost any mod you could want was available, remember, we're in a new era now.

phpbb3 posting text box

Is there any kind of function that is called to create the posting text box? Basically what i'm trying to do, is aside from the forums, we want a couple pages that appear more static. The idea, is to allow the text on the "static" pages to be editable via the Administration Panel, so I've created a ...

Okay, I'm going under pure assumption here, but if you redirect to a downloadable file (.zip, or .exe, etc.) then you stay on the page your at, and a download window pops up? What is your PHP header() code that your using to download the file? As a wonderful man just told me on a problem I just aske...

You could have PHP print out an HTML meta tag.

Code: Select all

echo "<meta http_equiv=\"refresh\" content=\"5;url=somepage.php\">";
and then you have all the rest of your page that you want displayed.

That is correct, I found it. Thanks for the push. I guess I shouldn't have given up and asked in the first place, as I AM a PHP coder. (it's my job, that i work at 20 hours a week). For the sake of anyone who finds this thread while trying to find a solution to the same thing, the HTTP_POST_VARS are...

So I may have found it.

I noticed that posting.php passes variables into the submit_post() function and right before that variables are called via the HTTP_POST_VARS functions, I do believe, that is what I needed, but I will post again after I check it.
