My host flagged the cache folder as a security risk?

I installed a brand new, clean 3.1.2 board last week. Today I got the following message from my host (DreamHost): Unfortunately, we found some potential indications that your website(s) *may* be compromised. The following files/directories had insecure permissions (777), which have been remediated. ...

Re: Fresh 3.1.x install (not update) but use existing database?

I know this is really old but I wanted to chime in that I finally got around to doing this. However these exact instructions didn't work out. I followed these instructions instead, and because my board is large I had to use command line option instead. Worked perfectly now!

Thanks!

Fresh 3.1.x install (not update) but use existing database?

Hello Everyone, I have a rather old phpBB 3.0.11 board. I was an early adopter and this board installation has been active since one of the 3.0 release candidates (8 years or so) and as such has accumulated a lot of dust, broken mods, strange inexplicable quirks etc... I'm very interested in simply ...

Sorry guys, haven't looked at this in awhile. In fact, I'll probably not be using it on my board any longer.

Re: [DEV] iPhone Emoji for phpBB3

Okay well you'll have to give me some more information than "it doesn't work." Like for example, the location of your board, the steps you've followed, any errors you see or do not see, etc...

and to even begin to imagine competing with facebook, you would need the money and marketing muscle that only something like google could have. But money and marketing muscle is nothing without truly new innovative ideas. See Google buzz, Google profiles, etc... I've been on Google+ since the day t...

Re: The end of facebook coming?

I really don't think people are giving the market enough credit. I don't believe it's literally about what's newest. If it were, Bing would have usurped Google Search by now, Chrome would have usurped Firefox by now, Ubuntu would have usurped Windows by now, Windows 7 Phones would have usurped iPhon...

Hello dpaanlka, Hello Robert, here some basics for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toleration Hello Martin, You're confusing tolerance for due weight . Tolerance does not require withholding facts or avoiding making a sound case against someone's beliefs for fear of causing offense. Rather, toler...

Re: SEF/SEO URLs

You can use Apache mod_rewrite to get something a little prettier, like http://www.mydomain.com/topic/60382 or heck even just http://www.mydomain.com/60382 if you really want to go minimalist. You could setup a system like this: mydomain.com/topic/60382 for topics mydomain.com/user/13983 for user pr...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.0.9 released

I have a dozen mods on my board so that is what I am worried about but the last few upgrades have been heaven with this 'Automatic update' (FTP) :D superb!! It never ceases to amaze me how reliable the automatic update system is. I too have dozens of mods, many of which I've written myself. The one...

Auto-update package from 3.0.7-PL to 3.0.9 (better late than never) worked smoothly for me on my multi-domain, extremely heavily modded board. :P

Probably 99% of my spam comes from China or Russia, or somewhere in the former Eastern Bloc or Asia. It's much less common from Western Europe or the Americas.
