Re: Discuss: phpBB2's "Retirement" Announced

it doen't matter what the users will think. you can wrote in a sticky topic that phpbb crew doesn't support phpbb2 anymore, and that's it. i am sure that will be other people that will help them. you don't need to do nothing. like this phpbb2 users who need help will be able to get it. when almost e...

Re: Discuss: phpBB2's "Retirement" Announced

ok, no one asks you to continue support phpbb2.
we just ask to leave these forums open, so the people who still use phpbb2 will be able to talk about it.
and the facts are, that phpbb2 does work with php5! when php6 will be published, maybe it won't, i dont know, but right now it works.

Re: Discuss: phpBB2's "Retirement" Announced

i didn't understand - phpbb2 can not work with php5 at all? Plain phpBB 2.0.23 will run on most PHP5 installations. It's not guaranteed to run on all PHP5 installations, and many MODs written for phpBB2 won't run correctly on PHP5. so it seems that phpbb2 works with php5 after all... my forum runs ...

Re: [RC1] Ranks summarize 2.0.0

It seems nice... :D
i think there is a statistics mod that works with modules, if you make it possible to combine your mod with that mod it can be more useful.
good luck!

Re: Bots, guests and phpbb2

Simply create a robots.txt file and tell them how to behave. There are thousands of tutorials on how to do this: http://www.google.com/search?q=robots.txt Yes, but i don't want that google will stop looking at the forum... do you know how i can prevent google and other bots form creating a lot of g...

Bots, guests and phpbb2

Hey all I have a quite successful site, and i use phpbb2 for the forums section. Lately, i have problems with bots, especially with Googlebot: Googlebot and others bots visit the forum and create an enormous amount of guests. For example, just now we have 100 guests that share the ip 66.249.72.34. I...

Re: [BETA] Advanced BBcode Box Mod 5.1.0c

Hey Freddie 3 things: 1) Could you explain waht is the difference between bbcode_box.js and add_bbcode.js? to be honest, i don't know; that's something i have to ask to the original mod-starter i think. 2) My forum align is right to left, but when user post Flash file, it always appear in the left....

Re: [BETA] Advanced BBcode Box Mod 5.1.0c

i haven't done a security check yet. But what i have done is: submitted this mod to the database (on the old phpbb.com forum) and got some feedback from TerraFrost. (mod wasn't validated because of some typos, security errors) a couple things were risky, like the [ram] tag, table bbcode, and font b...

Re: [BETA] Advanced BBcode Box Mod 5.1.0c

Hi freddie
Excellent mod! It really improves my forum :D
But I want to ask you something: have you done security check to your mod?
I konw that doing changes in the BBcode can be dangerous, so i want to konw if there is a risk in using this mod.
Thanks a lot!
