Re: The population.

I think we'd be in a much better situation, if we'd just used the space we've got such as the open straights of road here in the US or other less used plots of land for houses and bigger businesses (like computer companies) that don't' really require anything to grow on it, instead of building on to...

Re: Photos

Well typically you can do anything with a phpbb that your webhost doesn't tell you not to.

However, somethings may void support from phpbb.com

Re: Severe bandwidth use!

Well I don't think there's much way to reduce bandwidth usage except by reducing the information in each style. If most of your visitors are American try getting an american host. (They're usually cheaper). Also if you add a small ad banner to the top and/or bottom of your site that should increase ...

Not unless it's super hidden. I've been messing with it for months and haven't found one.

Re: Ebay Noob

Has anyone been involved in a bad transaction? One that resulted in negative feedback? So far I have had one that came close; I bought a DVD set that turned out to be a booleg "import" copy rather than the original. No wonder it was so cheap. I was rather irritated, but it turned out that it played...

Re: can i get hacked?

Probably not much chance. I'd backup the files and database just to make sure. Then feel free to laugh if by some very rare chance that you happen to be hacked. (since you can just restore your forum).

Re: Reducing database size?

Unless there's some nifty trick I don't know about then yes. Forum prunning was designed for two reasons; 1. To reduce database size. 2. Make it so that each forum doesn't have like a million pages. (most of which outdated). Now, seeing as how you have that many posts I assume that you must have web...

Re: Why does the pound still exist?

From what I've read here, it almost sounds as though the EU is going through some of the same political debates that the United States went through after the American Revolution. Essentially the 13 colonies were 13 small countries which ended up forming to create a central government and national cu...

Re: Would you spend money for a message-board-system?

If I had money to burn I might consider getting an IPB license, although personally I think phpbb 3 is just as good or better than vB. So considering phpbb is free and the support's good, I don't see much reason to switch.

Re: Drop and Go mods....

What if there was something similar to easymod or that thing SMF is said to have where you can install mods and all you have to do is upload any applicable images then the software RW's itself from a text document similar to the ones included in phpbb mods?

Re: Why does the pound still exist?

Look at it this way. If there was a ruling that you had to use Pesos just because Mexico was next door, would you like it? :) After all, so as long as you know how much you make at your job and how much things cost in pesos then you could successfully switch.......... Well I suppose I could see a p...

Re: Porn on a Childs forum!

Well phpbb 3 doesn't seem to have spambots yet, might want to try that. Also for phpbb 2 as many people have said there's tons of anti spambot mods.

Re: Why does the pound still exist?

We're not european surrender monkeys :) We like it, so we've kept it. I suspect sooner or later we'll have to swap but i don't see why we should have to. A key difference between us and the rest of the EU is that we're not joined by land borders. You can wander from one country to the next and keep...
