Re: Extensions doesn't show up in ACP

I just want to say I am having the same problem. I can't see any extensions above or below the viglink extension. I have tried putting extensions in the same relative position (okayed for phpbb3.2) but see nothing. I converted my large old phpbb2 board to a phpbb3.2 board. It took hours! Now a new o...

Help! phpbb2 to phpbb3 500 error using MAMP

I set up MAMP because the conversion failed online. I successfully converted a small forum (both online and in MAMP) but the large forum (about 1gb) fails online and using MAMP. Changing some php settings did not help. MAMP's default is php7. I have it on a Win7 computer with 4gb ram. The small foru...

Re: Is Evolution Inevitable?

Arglwydd, drives me nuts having the name on the right. I don't want to work to find out who I am reading. If you switch at some time and want it to look different, you can always mess with the viewtopic page. Will wait for hacks. Can't live without one that crippled my board but hey! I figured out h...

Re: Need a fix for post processing flaw on all phpBB boards

Good news is new software does not have this problem.

I did get a fix for it and submitted a bug report plus the fix (for phpBB 2.0.22).

Some hosts will help you by restoring your files and database. Maybe they have a copy you could use.

It doesn't sound like a database problem. Go use someone else's computer and log in there. You might also try a different browser (I have a bunch on my computer and select my fave and most reliable to use). If you can log in and stay logged in on someone else's computer, it looks like it is still a ...

Okay. Got my son to look at the code. He inserted another case. Works like a charm!! I reported it as a bug and also added the fix in the bug forum. Here is the fix: # #-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------ # includes/functions_search.php # #-----[ FIND ]---------------------------...

Interesting. I clicked on "next" and it went to page two but didn't clicking on the "2".

I only notice problems on my own board if the number of posts pulled up by a search is extremely high.

How about use phpmyadmin to check, repair, and optimize your tables? You can also delete it that way if you have to (but may be tedious to do so -- must search out all posts in that thread and delete the title).

Compression techniques could really shrink the size of the avatars. I have mine set at 3mb, smaller in size than yours. You could maybe do 10mb. I notice some threads are really long. I close threads at 50 pages. This may increase timeouts for you. How big database? I imagine your search table is pr...

If the board is old, you might need to upgrade to a newer version. All I can suggest is downloading the latest version and looking it over for directions for upgrading. Sometimes the database is changed so there are install files that are run (by uploading and then viewing the page at the url it is ...

One very simple mod I used was changing the newest member from the newest registered member to the newest activated registered member. In includes/functions.php, added AND user_active = 1: case 'newestuser': $sql = "SELECT user_id, username FROM " . USERS_TABLE . " WHERE user_id <> " . ANONYMOUS . "...
