Re: Tanked forum after updating from beta RC to version 3.0

Just ran into this exact problem when updating RC5 to 3.0.0 - no hooks directory in includes folder and automatic updater says "you've got everything you need!" I'm guessing RC 5 isn't supported by the automatic updater? Makes sense as it only says RC6/7 (but the other updater was RC8 and was clearl...

Reset password with just email address

I run a website for a school and many parents only visit once or twice a year to fill out some forms. Naturally they forget their usernames and ask for help with logging in. Can someone point me in the right direction for allowing password resets with ONLY email address (the default configuration re...

Re: [REQUEST]Can we have custom posting form in phpbb 3??

Just adding in my support for a custom posting form. I run a website for our company and also a grammar school and need small forms to sign up for events, etc. Right now I write custom forms in php, using a Fielmaker database for all my fields. But obviously this is a pain to maintain and integrate ...

Re: Timezone issue

When you are in the User Control Panel, and select Board Preferences, and then the proper setting for "My Timezone" be sure to also set the correct setting for "summer time/DST" in effect. This is not very intuitive in phpbb and confuses many new users. It would be great if someone created a mod to ...

Another vote for some help with writing the custom BBCode. That would be a big help!

Re: Custom BBCodes

Great job getting these all in one locatinon Marshalrusty! I'm bookmarking this thread. Does anyone else need a non-breaking space ( )? That's the only other BBCode I've added. I've been messing around with adding form tags with BBCode. Has great scorn already been heaped on this idea in a diff...

Re: How to append_sid() in Forum Link

Everyone having a nice Labor Day weekend? Getting a relaxing break from work? Anyone feeling rested enough to confirm a simple phpbb technical question? Don't make me write a thread titled "I'm really, really mad at phpbb! WTF? Help!!!!!!!!!!!" I much prefer more relevant titles but I'll do it, don'...

Re: Some questions: Redirecting page and Removing Subject Field

HI Mut I feel your pain on the lack of replies. Strangely it seems http://www.startrekguide.com offers better support, which I haven't fully grokked yet. The file posting.php contains the line: meta_refresh(3,$redirect_url); Have you tried shortening that "3" to "2" or "1"? I'm no php expert but tha...

Re: Known bug? Last Active Sort in Find a Member

Yes, it would be clearer to just say "I upgraded my phpbb2 board". I've been doing lots of work with Filemaker and was thinking about importing records into a new db. But all I did was upgrade a vanilla (no mods) phpbb 2 installation to phpbb3, with no problems. The reason I think it is related to c...

Re: How to append_sid() in Forum Link

The link works great, whether it is relative or absolute. The only problem is that folks who don't use cookies get the "you aren't logged in" error instead of transferring to the proper page. Folks who have cookies enabled have no problem. karlsemple you're just a bit too succinct for me. :D This is...

Known bug? Last Active Sort in Find a Member

Is this a known bug? Expected: Pressing [Find a member] in the ACP General:Manage Users pops up a separate window with along list of all members. The list can be ascending sorted by any column heading. Pressing the column header again sorts descending. Unexpected: Pressing "Last Active" to sort by t...

Re: How to append_sid() in Forum Link

So you're saying then you just don't use append_sid()? Fine by me but the documentation clearly states that append_sid() should be used everywhere, even in forum links.

Re: Anyone know what time it is?

Yes I had set the time in the UCP but NOT the DST setting. That took care of that last hour. It would be great if the ACP said "Adjust settings in UCP as well" in the ACP. And if the UCP had some way of visually linking those two elements. Either an outline box around them or re-titling the second "...
