which webhost is good for phpBB3

I know there are ads/links all over phpBB site. But I'd rather hear from users and/or staffs. I'm currently using 1and1 but thinking of invoking the 90-day money back cuz I'm having problems with their support for GD (and lack of support for ImageMagick for their "home package" users). I hope I'm no...

Re: Conversions from phpBB2 to Beta5 and future support

I just want to ask, how will installed mods affect the conversion process from phpBB2.0.21 to phpBB3 RC1? I'd like to have a semi-clean start. I'd just want to retain all the member info (username/password) as well as the posts (topic/content/replies). Will that be possible? Also, will the conversio...

Re: Fatal error when trying to install

Beta 5, but I got it to work now. I used a different FTP client to upload the files. Installation was no problem. Cannot wait until it's released. Thanks.

By the way, any way i can get my board to look like this board? The layout is really nice, simple.

Fatal error when trying to install

I get this message when I tried going to http://mywebsite/phpBB3/ which is where I uploaded all the files. Fatal error: Cannot redeclare set_var() (previously declared in /homepages/18/d203167999/htdocs/phpBB3/includes/functions.php:20) in /homepages/18/d203167999/htdocs/phpBB3/includes/functions.ph...

Subject in another language

I'm having problem displaying the title of the post in a foreign language. Default language of the board is English, but my board users are multi-lingual. Does phpBB2 allows for this? I know that I can change the language to a different one, but I want to keep English as the default language, but at...

thanks, that's one step closer. now, how about jumping to the post that is on the same page without reloading the page? perhaps I could modify the 'local links' mod to check if the request post is on the same page, then to just jump. the checking part shouldnt be that hard, right? but the jumping pa...

re-installing the board

I want to re-install my board, can I simply back up all the files currently in the phpBB2 directory, replace them with the files in the ZIP files, run the installation again? How will this affect the contents in the MySQL database? And if want to go back to the current version, can I simply put back...

Has anyone gotten this to work with Profile Control Panel? I figured the profilcp\profilcp_activate.php has to be modified instead of usercp_activate.php, but the profilcp_activate.php uses a much older version of usercp_activate.php so there are a lot of differences in the codes. I don't really wan...

thanks for the response. I tried using the URL tag and the link location, but i guess it's the nature of the URL tag that automatically loads the link in a new window (tab for firefox, at least for mine). is there a way to make it so it loads the link in the same window? like the "_self" attribute f...

navigating within a topic

I want to create a topic where the first post is the table of contents with links to the subsequent replies. the problem is, I don't want to reload the topic each time the user clicks on the URL to the post. what should I use for the URL so that it just jumps, without reloading the page, to the post...

adding a link to overall_header

I'm trying to add a link to overall_header.tpl, where should I put the info without hardcoding it into the file. I am referring to the values for {U_something}, {I_something}, and {L_something}?

not sure if it's this mod or another mod that I had installed, but for some reason, I cannot change the permission to Vote to ALL. I tried uninstalling the mod by reverting the modified files to their backups that I made prior to installing this mod, still couldn't get it to allow ALL users to vote....

Not sure if it's intentional, but when I checked the box for mods only description, I wasn't able to see the topic description in the viewforum page as a guest (which is what's supposed to happen), but I was able to see it in the viewtopic page. Same deal when I'm logged in as a registered user (not...
