I figured out the problem with the messenger info not displaying for non-admin people. In def_userfields.php, find: 'messangers' => array( 'config_field' => 'allow_viewmessengers', 'admin_field' => 'user_allow_messanger', 'user_field' => 'user_viewmessanger ', 'sql_def' => '[USERS].user_id = [view.u...

Ok, the first part is no problem. The second part - do I need to use the long form only on the phpbb scripts, only on my script, or both? If I do have to do it on the phpbb scripts, I'm going to have to change a lot of files or can I just append something to one of the files? Thanks for the help! Je...

Including code from diff database in forum

Sorry for the double post, but maybe this post is more appropriate here than in mods request as I really don't need a mod made for me. I just want to know if it's possible to do this.... I made a little random script that I want to display on my site and also on the forum. The script is in a differe...

Including code from diff database in forum

I made a little random script that I want to display on my site and also on the forum. The script is in a different database and whenever I try to include it in the forum, I get some errors: Warning: mysql_query(): 13 is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/rammste/public_html/forum/db/mysql4.ph...

Well, the first thing I would do is upgrade to 2.0.11, it's very important for security reasons. As for the smilies... are you hosting the forum from your computer or are you paying for a webhost? I'm going to assume that you are paying for a webhost. After you extract the smilies, you have to uploa...

Here's a silly question... did you upload the smilies and the styles to the correct places? :)

My friend upgraded a few weeks ago when 2.0.11 came out though (uploaded the changed files) and these errors didn't start showing up until yesterday.

Should he chmod every phpbb file to 444? What about the config.php file? Avatar folder?

Thanks for the all of the help so far.

No, he's on a paid host, 1and1 I believe and it looks like those two other sites have different hosts. Actually, he reuploaded the files that he had on his computer to overwrite the ones on the server and the errors were still there, so that would probably mean that there's something wrong on the se...

I know you guys hate comparisons to other boards, but... do the other boards use the same type of search that phpBB does? Are there other options other than what Darth Wong suggested?
