Re: Phpbb and Whmcs Daabase Intergration

I'm working on linking "clients" in WHMCS and forum users on phpBB 3. I currently have a shopping cart that uses phpBB 3 as its user system and to keep track of orders. I now want to switch to using just WHMCS for both the hosting as well as digital products and so need to import my old customers fr...

Import phpBB 2.xx posts into a populated phpBB 3.xx forum

I've got a phpBB 3 forum that is active with a large number of posts. I also have an old phpBB 2 database wioth a lot of posts from an old forum I had that died. I would like to recover that content and import it into my phpBB 3 installation without doing any sort of reinstallation. Are there any hi...

Re: [RC2]RSS Feed

This doesn't work on forums that use SSL. It will still validate and everything, but when I try to use it in any feed readers such as iGoogle, Netvibes, or add it to the sidebar in Wordpress, nothing works. When I switch from https to http it does.

That's a much better idea, thanks. This is my first mod so I have no idea what I'm doing.

Using phpBB 3 variables within PHP blocks inside a template

I'm trying to add some PHP code using: <!-- PHP --> // php code goes here <!-- ENDPHP --> The problem is that I am editing the viewtopic_body.html template file, and I need the user_id of each poster so that I can correlate their purchases to their account. There is no other option but to use PHP co...

It disguises the referrer. Oh, and I have no idea how to do it. ;)

Re: How to know if a user is logged in

I would like to know the same thing. I'm not trying to hijack the thread, but for clarity I'd like to know how to check if a user is logged in, even if I am not in the same directory as phpbb. For example, if phpBB3 is installed to mysite.com/phpbb3/ I would like to be able to check if they're logge...

Re: Integrating phpBB3 into my CMS

@churney and @tayabi:

Are you clearing the template cache after uploading the changes? Those are the correct files to edit, but after you've altered them you need to refresh the template in the admin panel for the changes to be visible.

Got Hacked, they deleted my board, but not the database.

Damn script kiddies found an unpatched script somewhere on my site and used that to gain access. Anyway, they deleted my phpBB3 forum, but left the database. I think just replacing /config.php with the correct details will work. Can anybody post a working copy that I can alter with my database setti...

Re: Just starting out in phpBB land

I echo the sentiments of thecoalman. I've used a lot of forum software, both free and paid. By far, I'd recommend phpBB 3 RC7 above all other software. The ease of use, styles, and open source nature of this software alone make this the preferred forum software in my opinion.

I'd personally love to have a way to disable all forum members, or forum members in certain user groups, from posting any URLs or live links using the URL BBCode. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks. EDIT: Nevermind, found the solution over here: http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic....

1) Yes you do have to bother with those tags, unless you're outputting WML, XML, SGML, SMIL, SVG, etc. To be compliant those tags are required (look @ the HTML 4 DTD) 2) All php files are parsed, whether they contain PHP or not. This adds overhead compared to .html which are just servered up. Wow. ...
