Re: Migrating from 2.0.17 to new host with 3.2.4

You will need to upgrade it to 3.0.X first, then 3.1.X, then 3.2.4. Backup all the databases and files first. Use mysqldump(I guess you are using mysql) to dump all data to the new server, Use the mysql command line to import it, -- here you may meet some problems during the import, fix them When im...

Re: Automatic language detection

In my case it is not for human beings but for the robots. The robots from some search engines only crawl the pages of specific language. If I don't make it auto detect the visitor's language, the robot may just turn away at the first page.

Re: Automatic language detection

"/common.$phpEx")) ? $use_lang : basename($config['default_lang']); $this->data['user_lang'] = $user_lang_name; } else { $user_lang_name = bas...

Is there a tool kit for phpbb developers?

Is there a set of php scripts that can help populate an empty forum with certain number of forums, posts and users with random input? And recover it when the data collapses? It will help when developing some mods. I think I once saw this kind of scripts before, but nowhere to find it now. Does anybo...

Re: Restore from DB backup?

It's also a phpBB2 dump so you would need to get your old board running and convert to phpBB3 anyway. Yes but it can not explain why it runs into an error. I guess his dump file has included the table structures... otherwise he may need some extra work on a 400MB file... He may try to use the vim t...

Re: [BETA]Backup Pro -For big database backup and restore

Will it work with database larger than 1GB ? Thanks for reply Yes, as long as you have enough space quota. Except the compress&download function, it can not work with a too large database. On my machine it can compress a 60MB db before hitting the time-out. Even if so you can download the whole fol...

Questions about the phpbb_forums_access table

Does anybody know what this table is using for? I am reading the code related to this table, but I found it to be a bit confusing. For example the following code in functions_display.php if ($show_active) { $sql_array['LEFT_JOIN'][] = array( 'FROM' => array(FORUMS_ACCESS_TABLE => 'fa'), 'ON' => "fa....
