Re: Discussion: Merits of Account Activation.

I have no problem with spammers whatsoever.

I don't contact spammers, I disable their account.

No account activation is not equal to no need to register.

No need for a valid email account on my side.

Re: Discussion: Merits of Account Activation.

No activation is my choice, with user experience in mind, the easier and quicker the better.

I don't care about invalid emails, why would I?

Converting phpBB2 to 3.1.0-RC3 error

Hello, When trying to convert a phpBB2 forum to 3.1.0-RC3 I recieve the following error multiple times during the conversion: [phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/install/install_convert.php on line 2059: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, function 'phpbb_hash' n...

Re: Possibly Spam bot proof Q&A.

A combination of a Q&A with a picture is another option, just ask a question about a picture.

Simple enough for most people, hard enough for any bot.

Re: Should Forum Members Be Able To Edit/Delete Their Posts?

Third, it addresses the ability of folks to ask a question, wait for an answer, and then go back and edit their first post with "resolved" or something stupid like that. It destroys the value of the topic to later users who might be searching for the solution to the same problem. What if ...

Re: phpbb2 site attacked... posts unreadable

Sounds to me like the attack came from inside, from inside the group of persons with access to the admin panel.

It's most certainly not a hacked forum.

Update to 2.0.23 asap.

Re: How to display Facebook thumbnail

Read the Facebook Docs . ;) Especially the part that refers to <meta property="og:image" content="thumbnail_image" /> The og:image is the URL to the image that appears in the Feed story. The thumbnail's width AND height must be at least 50 pixels, and cannot exceed 130x110 pixels...

Re: phpBB Falling Behind?

if one knows what they are doing, then phpbb2 is very secure. As far as I know there's hasn´t been a case of a hacked phpBB2.0.23 board and phpBB2.0.24 seems to be as secure as it should be. This is simply not true. phpBB2 has insufficient CSRF protection in so many places. Are you referring to php...
