Sorry if this has already been covered but i'm getting an error when trying to install the country csv file, it says the file is not in the right place. Everything else installs and works fine. When i go to admincp it brings up the following error: Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open...

i've installed this mod. it looks quite useful as it includes the new users info in the admin email. However, i've already got member approval set to admin so when a new user registers, i get 2 emails - the original one and the one that this mod sends. is there any way I can stop the original one wi...

I think the way the admin approval for new members works needs to be tweaked.

Ideally, a user would register on the forum and would be required to verify their email address, once it was verified the admin would be required to approve their account request.

I'd be interested in seeing a version of this mod to work with 2.0.21 if possible :D

yes but the spammers would fill in every single field with random words/numbers. You could clearly tell the spammers apart from users who had unwittingly filled in an odd bit of extra info here or there

Let me ask it this way... How do you know it is a spam bot and not someone spamming boards for a living making $0.70 per hour? :P I get what you mean but since I made the changes to my template (ie-since the mod started functioning properly) i've not had the mod capture a single spam bot but before...

user registration-->email verification--->admin approv

Quite simply, it would be great to see a mod that followed the process in the topic to eliminate a lot more spammers. A user would register on the forum and would be required to verify their email address, once it was verified the admin would be required to approve their account request. Does such a...

"Today's active topics" text link

Apologies in advance for posting a link to invision forums but is there a simple mod that can be used to bring up "today's active topics" like at the bottom of the following page: http://forums.invisionpower.com/ Being able to specify a time period (eg-1 day-->1 week) would be useful as well. I've s...

How do you know they are spam bots? It's quite obvious from the info they've entered in the available field (signature) If the users are set to need admin approval it will always ask you to approve them. Huge waste of time IMHO, just set it to user activation... But what if the spammers have unique...

Hmmmm, after making the changes in my template the anti spam mod doesn't seem to work so well for me. I have set the following options: ICQ, AIM, YIM, MSN - always off website, location, occupation, interests - off for registration signature - always on However, i've still had 3 spam bots register a...

thanks guys. You were right, it turned out that easymod had not edited the skin that I use on the board.

Is there an optimum setting to capture most spam bots? for example-turning everything to off or everything to on? or does it not make a difference?

I've installed this mod. It seems to be doing a great job but i'm not quite sure what the settings in the anti spam ACP mean. Could someone explain what "always off", "always on" and "off for registration" mean as I can't find an explanation of them anywhere. The only reason I ask is because someone...
