I actually don't think it is a bug. "Do not automatically parse URLs" is unchecked by default.

Re: Preventing Spam in 3.0 [*Read First Post*]

David, he isn't saying it will fight spam, but how he is using the forum software, he'd like that to be an option in the registration settings.

Bump up my post from a couple pages back.

Re: Security problems

I would definitely check for vulnerabilities within other areas of your website, not just phpBB. If a script kiddie can find an access point to upload a PHP script, he/she can have access to all your web host files including your databases. I've personally had an incident but was quick to handle and...

I use FireFTP because it's a Firefox add-on and works great.

Re: Preventing Spam in 3.0 [*Read First Post*]

Using a drop-down box only allows 1 wrong answer, so the more options you're adding, the more correct options there are. It doesn't do any better to add more Yes answers than one. With a number field, you can specify the range of correct answers. If you only want one, set the lowest and highest allo...

This is a problem on the server Admin's side, not yours. Shoot them a message and inform them of your objective.

Re: htaccess and style.php problem

Just a thought, but did you try adding css to this line?

Code: Select all

<FilesMatch "\.(php|cgi|pl|html|htm)$">
I don't have a lot of experience with the htaccess file, but I noticed the CSS filetype wasn't mentioned.

Code: Select all

<FilesMatch "\.(php|cgi|pl|html|htm|css)$">

Re: Preventing Spam in 3.0 [*Read First Post*]

I'm having a problem with a guest board. Bots like to post a lot of links and for my users' security, I've disabled BBCode for Guests. Unfortunately, URLs are automatically parsing so links not posted in BBcode are still being displayed. Any suggestions or know of a way to fix auto-URL parsing for G...

Re: Where is the Prosilver cache v3.0.4?

Within the main page of the ACP, there is a button to 'Purge the cache' but this will do it for all files. If you want just ProSilver, go to the Styles tab > Templates > Prosilver: Refresh. Depending on the changes you made, you may need to purge the cache of the imageset and theme too. Edit: I got ...

Re: Directing members from old forum?

Create a file in the domain root directory called index.php with the following contents and remove the other index-type files.

Code: Select all

<?php
header( 'Location: http://www.budoonline.co.uk/forum/' ) ;
?>
You could also do a redirect within the web host's control panel of the old domain.

Re: Permissions problem + Guest posting layout messup

Edit: This problem has been solved. It was caused by a typo on my part in which I didn't close an anchor tag. :oops: As seen (barely) in the photo, 'Last post by: test' is all linked. User 'test' is a guest and so he doesn't have a profile to link to. Because of this, the anchor tag (hyperlink) exte...

Re: Front Page News Syndication

Where do I put the modx.prosilver.en.xsl? You don't upload the XML document file or the XLS stylesheet file to your web host. Instead, you open the XML document file called install.xml in your web browser. That page is formatted based on the settings in the XLS stylesheet file modx.prosilver.en.xls .

Re: Template changes refuses to work

Have you cleared the template cache for the style? ACP > Styles tab > Style components: Templates > Refresh: on the template you want.

Alternately, you can clear all the forum cache from the General tab of the ACP instead of a specific theme section.

Edit: Tom beat me.
