That code looks to be solid. I haven't bothered to test it or anything, so I can't say for certain that it is in fact going to work, but long story short, if it encounters that error message again, it will try and clear 50 sessions from the table, and if it's not able to do that, it will increase th...

I don't think that they will. I would suggest you bring down your session length to something in the realm of 10 minutes or so (600), but other than that, I'd be surprised if something like this happened to you again.

I'm not really a new user, I just don't post here much.

I've been using phpBB for awhile now and I've modified my own enough (without the use of any third-party mods) that I've gotten to understand it pretty well.

It looks like it's currently okay. If it were building up, you'd notice, on the main page, a whole lot of people logged into the site that weren't really there. Given your current scenario, I'm imagining that when you were getting the "table full" error earlier, it was probably showing 100...

Well, that's 100 minutes, which is kind of overboard. I would definitely knock that down if I were you. Basically, session length is the answer to the following questions: "How long am I going to stay logged in if I don't select [keep me logged in]?" AND "To how many seconds is the 'W...

What's the URL to your site? I skimmed the past posts but didn't see it.

I keep mine set to 900 (seconds). If you have high traffic, you can reduce the possibility of getting your sessions table filled up again by going to a lower amount, like 60 (one minute), but that puts a slightly higher drain on the server and database, as it is having to do more processing to clear...

It doesn't clear itself when it reaches a certain size, rather, clears itself intermittently, to keep it from being clogged. Let me give you an example... Assuming your session duration is 5 minutes... You log in at 3:30 I log in at 3:31 Bob logs in at 3:32. That creates three session entries, one f...

Have him clear his cookies.

That should correct the issue.

In the admin panel, under "General Configuration", change the "User account activation" option to "none".

Also, change "Use SMTP server for email" to "no".

That should clear things up.

Re-upload the original sessions.php file from your hard drive. It looks like there are some extraneous at (@) symbols in there where they don't need to be. Make sure that you're uploading the file in ASCII mode as well. If that fails, then open up "includes/sessions.php" in a text editor (...

There's a pretty steep learning curve, really, but once you get the hang of it, simple things end up being pretty easy. I encourage you to download the SubSilver SDK from the Downloads section of this site. Basically, it's a Photoshop document with most of the buttons and text from this site. You ca...

I'll try and sum up as easily as I can. In your database, you have a sessions table. Every time someone logs into your site, it adds their user information into that sessions table, so that phpBB has a tally of who is logged in. It uses this information for things like the "Who's Logged In"...

You're going to need an image editing program of some sort. Adobe Photoshop (http://adobe.com/) is definitely the way to go, but it's quite pricey. If you can't afford that, then Paintshop Pro seems to be the popular fallback, but the Gimp will work as well. Unfortunately, you're either need to buil...

Well, by reading the error message, it indicates that there is no value for the "group_id". For whatever reason, it's not populating the query with that value , as evidenced by the (1, , 1) portion of the INSERT statement. That's causing a syntax error, and mySQL isn't able to do an insert...
