Re: [3.2][3.3][RC] Privacy Policy

The description of the extension, shown in the very first post, makes it clear that its main purpose is to fulfil the requirements of the GDPR. Extension Name: Privacy Policy Author: david63 Description: Adds options for the user to accept the use of cookies, under EU Cookie Directive (2012), and/or...

Re: Blank Page on Starting New Topic

I haven't - we have shared hosting and I have to go all around the houses to get to them, but in any case I would have thought that any change would have affected all of the forums in the Category, if not the whole board. It is just one out of 6 forums in the Category, and the other 4 Categories are...

Re: Blank Page on Starting New Topic

I have a feeling I did this at some point in the past, but I have completely forgotten how I did it. Do you have a link to an idiot's guide? I do have a full, up-to-date backup on my PC.

If you're on Firefox this is a known issue (and one that I have had when updating phpBB).

Clearing history is the bit that sorted it out for me.

Set "Force privacy acceptance" to Yes

Where is that in the ACP if I may ask. All I see is enable the extension, can not find any where to modify, edit or make changes.

Peace
Go to the 'Extensions' tab in the ACP and scroll down the menu on the left to 'Privacy policy settings'.

Re: New GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and phpBB

There's some sound advice from a lawyer on the BBC News website . She said small organisations should relax and apply a simple test: would a person expect to get a message from you? She gives as an example a swimming club. You would expect to get a newsletter about opening times at the pool or meeti...

Re: [3.2][RC] Privacy Policy

You need the link to the actual image (right click on the image and choose 'view image', then copy the url from that) and put the img tags around that.

Re: New GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and phpBB

I think the organisations that are responsible for policing the GDPR (the ICO in the UK) will only ever visit a forum if a complaint has been made. They're vanishingly unlikely to ever go out looking for infringements from forum owners who are not big businesses. If you can demonstrate that you have...

If you scroll down it appears - it looks as though altervista have a promo thingy that goes on top of everything else at the top of the page.

Re: New GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and phpBB

If an account is anonymised and deleted but the posts are kept, I know that unread PMS are deleted, but presumably ones that have been read (and are therefore in someone else's inbox) are kept. If the user is deleted and their posts are not kept, are the read PMs also deleted completely? Do they dis...

Re: Email notification problems

Thank you both. I changed the setting for smtp to 'no', and I actually had a notification this morning. And it wasn't returned to me as undeliverable either. It looks as though whatever is marking our emails as spam (gmail for one) is also happy with them now.
