Re: permissions question

Seems like you are not fully aware of the regular workings of a forum? There are topics I would like to make, that I don't want "guests" to see. So, I would make a topic, and make it visable to everyone except the guests. Not for general use by members of the forums, but just for administ...

Re: permissions question

You need to explain what it is that you are trying to do and who would have these permissions. I think he wants to stop guests from reading a few topics within a forum, while leaving the rest of the forum and its topics accessible to guests. He doesn't want the hidden BBcode though, from what I can...

permissions question

Any way to make "permissions" on a topic? Or is the entire forum have to be restricted too?

I want to be able to restrict only a few topics so unregistered "visitors" can't read those posts. Not the entire forum.

Re: thinking of "moving" forum to new host

Mine is set to auto, but I have "allow resuming of ascii files" unchecked under "file exists action". You shouldn't need to mess with any of the phpmyadmin settings when exporting a db, iirc. For a database of that size I would recommend cli and using mysqldump instead, it will ...

thinking of "moving" forum to new host

I am running phpbb 3.2.7 version I am thinking of moving to a new host. There are just a couple questions I have before doing so. The database is 1.4 gb. It's large, so I have to use PHPMyAdmins and Big Dump. #1 I played with backing up the data base using phpMyAdmin but I'm not sure if I have the &...

restore deleted member

One of our members was deleted by accident. Any way to "un-delete" them.

Their old posts are still there with their username on it, but the username is no longer active.

Or, is it a "done deal"?

That article is still good and works.
Other then it doesn't apply to the newer version of MyphpAdmin.

That is what stopped me.

Hey robert, I'm thinking of moving "again". LOL

Re: Transfering to new host

The PHP back isn't even the same version by a long shot. It says to "Below this setting in the Data section, ensure Complete inserts is checked, and Extended inserts is unchecked." version 3.4.3.2 transfer7.png This option doesn't even exist on my newer version of "myphpadmin" I'...

Transfering to new host

Is there a "up to date" procedure you guys are using to transfer a forum to a new host. Same Domain name, just new host. I know how to FTP using either Binary, or unchecking "treating files without extensions as ASCII files". And uploading to new host. But my concern is I have a ...

Re: Mobile Friendly

I fixed the Advertising sections and also the buttons on the top. Now all that is left is it says "the text is too small". I took that entire email section out and re-wrote it. Now it is using the forums default text size. It looks a little small to me, but...too bad! LOL Thank you for yo...

Thank you so much. I am deciding on those images. I think I need to "reduce them in size" BEFORE I use them. That way they would already be small and the bot wouldn't "misread them.

Thank you!
