Re: PHPBB Spam ?

We had one who was beating the captcha and coming back with a different disposable email address every day. There's a list of temp mail domains you can ban in the acp and it's up to date. You just have to edit the list to put *@ in front of each domain (like *@trashmail.com) before you put them into...

Re: How to get archive.org bot to crawl viewtopic

FYI, in the webinar they said a 1-yr subscription to Archive-It starts at $3000 USD for 128 gigabytes and is individually priced based on the project. They kept encouraging everyone to run a trial in which they crawl your site and then talk to you about price. When I submitted a question about the f...

Re: How to get archive.org bot to crawl viewtopic

Thanks for checking the permissions. I fixed the print permission for all forums and double-checked them all. I tried what you said about checking permissions of the bot through the acp, the bot can see everything it needs to, thanks. I looked at firefox extensions for user agent switcher so I will ...

Re: How to get archive.org bot to crawl viewtopic

Hi Robert,

Not sure this is what you meant? If not, please give me the dummies version. I don't see where to check forum permissions for a single bot, only the bots group. Thanks!

Re: How to get archive.org bot to crawl viewtopic

It's another good question. I think they're OK?
Here is an example from one forum. Please let me know if you see anything. :)

Re: How to get archive.org bot to crawl viewtopic

Do you mean that precisely? How about clicking the topic URI instead of a post URI? They differ, so one may be archived and the other not. Thanks for the idea. :) For a second I thought that was going to be it. Great idea! Unfortunately, neither url worked, but that was a very good idea. I tried it...

Re: How to get archive.org bot to crawl viewtopic

This seems to be a common problem. Found some urls to check on archive.org (by looking in old support request templates). Some say This board has no forums, most of the rest are only archived to viewforum level. Its hard to even find one that has posts. I'm trying forum after forum and seeing the sa...

Re: How to get archive.org bot to crawl viewtopic

Hi AmigoJack, I have not contacted them, but I have read their help pages several times over the years, including a week or two ago. They really don't give the answer. The save pages link is mostly about saving small numbers of individually selected pages. I've certainly used that a number of times ...

How to get archive.org bot to crawl viewtopic

When I look up our forum on archive.org, it has index and viewforum, but if you try to click a topic, the posts are not archived. There has to be a way to do it, because they have archived the posts from phpbb.com. What is the trick to getting a complete crawl? Thanks https://web.archive.org/web/201...

Re: fix.php for 3.2.5

Thanks! Ran it twice and it got 40 out of 45. The 5 it is not identifying are cases where the link was used inside a quote box. The remaining 5 are no problem to do manually (even though they don't show), I just wanted to explain why I think it wasn't finding all 45. Thank you! EDIT TO ADD: Said abo...

Re: fix.php for 3.2.5

Yeah, it's a test board, no worries. ;) That seemed like a good idea about adding characters. I tried adding some dots and submitted, but no change, took the dots back out and submitted, still the same. Thanks for the suggestion. My records show I did the "links open in new windows" edits 12 May 201...

fix.php for 3.2.5

This is an old problem but we are just experiencing it now. We went from 3.0 to 3.2.5 because we were waiting for an extension. Now there are 45 posts in one forum where the 3.0 "links open in new window" code is showing. onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Tried editing the post, didn't w...

Re: Nested bbcode

You are so right! It works beautifully! Exactly like you were saying. I had to get away from it, then come back and try again. The second time I managed to >>>follow the instructions<<<. Thank you!!! And you are absolutely right, I will put a searchable keyword identifier in so the links can be foun...

Re: Nested bbcode

Thank you both very much. After reading the posts I found a Knowledge Base article on bbcodes since I've never made one. Will give it a try with these suggestions. I understand what you're saying about how it would look to the user. I'm thinking they're pretty unlikely to want to edit a post from th...

This may help https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=456&t=2460446 This works ,but it’s in Beta stage and the developer is not supporting it anymore and not moving it ro production so with any upgrade and change I will have to find anothwr way again :) Maybe I can look in his code to see t...
