Futurequest closing, anyone know a good host?

It's just a small personal website (not a board) but I've had it on Futurequest since 2012. They've been great.

Need to move by July 14.

Can anyone recommend a good host? Nothing fancy.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Search Also

Looking for a "Search Also" extension. I can imagine two ways to do it, and either way is fine. Option One It allows Admin to tell the search engine to return results for an alternative spelling, along with the results from the spelling the user used for his keyword. There would be somethi...

Re: Board intermittently hangs when submitting reply

Thanks to you and brf for pointing to notifications. You were both right. I found the problem, but it's a mystery why it occurred now. I turned off the Prime Notify extension. Posted a reply, and it went immediately. Turned it back on, posted a reply, took forever. Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat. Re...

Re: Board intermittently hangs when submitting reply

Thanks for your suggestion. That was another good idea. It was on 20 but I changed it to 1, and I'm very sorry to say it still took about 2 minutes to submit. I tried disabling board-wide emails on the test board a day or two ago. Don't know if that was a good idea or not, but that didn't work eithe...

Re: Board intermittently hangs when submitting new post

Tonight I belatedly thought to check the test board, which is on the same server. It's doing the same thing. That rules out a problem with the database on the live board (I think) because the test board is running a db dated long before the problem occurred. To summarize Navigating around the board ...

Re: Board intermittently hangs when submitting new post

Usually, that type of posting-hang is due to bad email addresses in post notifications where someone has subscribed to a forum or popular topic. Thanks for your reply. I tried testing it. I went to the db and made sure nobody was subscribed to the Test Forum. Then I went to Test Forum and posted. T...

Re: Board intermittently hangs when submitting new post

Maybe meaning something like Spamhaus or other similar blacklist checker? Yes, something like that. Maybe some kind of new server security they activated after the server was getting hit repeatedly. I don't know enough about it to make an educated guess or ask them intelligent questions. Thanks

Board intermittently hangs when submitting reply

We are running 3.3.2. I'm sorry I don't know the correct terminology to describe this situation. You are posting, and some posts submit normally. Then you submit a post and the board seems to freeze on the Submit screen. The pending icon spins and spins. Using the google timer, I've had it count dow...

Re: Download posts

A follow-up. The pdf idea was a hit with the person who I offered to download the 2643 posts for. The way I'm doing it is 1) go to acp > Post settings > change Posts per page to 200. 2) go to Search. Enter the user's name in Search for Author, put 'All available' on Return first, tick Ascending to h...

Re: Download posts

OK, thanks. I'm not sure all users will have Excel because it doesn't come pre-loaded on a lot of computers now. Finding other ways to format a CSV would be better.

Re: Download posts

Ah! Going there now. I only searched extensions using keyword 'print'. Dumb. Thank you so much. Will know shortly. :D EDIT TO ADD: It has the time in everyday format. Hard to read in Excel. Easier in EditPlus. Easiest if you save as .html and open it from there. Not sure if users are going to be up ...

Re: Download posts

I'm looking now. I'd need to include the date and the user would have a Unix time stamp. I think date could be a problem.

EDIT TO ADD: At least the server credentials still work.
