Displaying posts and topics on external pages

There is a great tutorial on how to display posts/topics on external pages at https://wiki.phpbb.com/Practical.Displa ... rnal_pages.

If I wanted to display just the last 5 topics titles, what html would I use? I couldn't find the part in the tutorial.

Re: Recent topics on external pages/domains

I too would love to see a Topics Anywhere for 3.1.2

I would even throw a donation into the pot towards its development.

Topics Anywhere - Mod Request

This is a wonderful mod that allows you to list X amount of topics on an external homepage. It worked great for years with phpbb2, but when phpbb3 was introduced only hacked versions floated around. A few people were able to get it to work with 3.x. (https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=7...

Re: [RC-5] RSS Input

you must also declare the variable argv global at the top of the program . global argv; I have tested this several times now and it finally works. the command line should look something like this: php5 -d register_argc_argv=on $HOME/html/phpbb/rss_import.php 1,2,3,4 where 1 2 3 and 4 are the rss fe...

Re: [RC-5] RSS Input

ISSUE WITH CRON This is NOT a CRON issue, you have to ask your service provider for support. Does phpinfo page 'allow_url_fopen = On' or have curl support? Well, I spoke with GoDaddy hosting support and they said their Cron Manager is working just fine, they don't provide support for 3rd party web ...

Re: [RC-5] RSS Input

ISSUE WITH CRON First of all, I just wanted to give a big THANKS to the creator, this is an awesome mod. This is something that should definitely be included in all stable releases of PHPBB (just as a similar feature is included with vbulletin). I'm running PHPBB 3.0.9. The RSS Input mod is installe...

Re: NAVLINKS board index, forum name hyperlinks not working

FIXED.

The header bar was somehow overlaying the hyperlinks so it was unclickable.

It was:

Code: Select all

<div style="height:110px;">
I changed it to:

Code: Select all

<div style="height: 90px;">

Re: NAVLINKS board index, forum name hyperlinks not working

Sinom, ok will do.. Although I think my original post provided more relevant information. :) I will go along with protocol though! NAVLINKS board index, forum name hyperlinks not working

This is probably an easy fix but I'm stumped. Hopefully someone can push me in the right direction. :) The links at the top of my forum "Board Index > Forum Name" aren't working. The text is there, but they're not linking to anything. The code in my overall_header template is: <ul class="linklist na...

Re: Last 5 Topics on nonforum page - Select specific forum?

Still puzzled over this - anyone know how to exclude topics from a specific forum, or show topics from just one specific forum?

Re: Last 5 Topics on nonforum page - Select specific forum?

Is it this line? Anyone? ::rips out hair:: :shock:

Code: Select all

$forums = array_unique(array_keys($auth->acl_getf('f_read', true)));
Just want to exclude a specific forum, and I can't figure it out.

Re: Last 5 Topics on nonforum page - Select specific forum?

Just trying to at least identify the part that needs to be edited so I can fiddle with it.

Code: Select all

// Number of posts and grabbing permissions
    $topic_limit = request_var('topic_limit', 5);
    $forums = array_unique(array_keys($auth->acl_getf('f_read', true)));

Last 5 Topics on nonforum page - Select specific forum?

I'm using a simple script to pull the last 5 topics from my forum and display them on a non-forum page. My question is, how do I alter this to exclude topics from a specific forum, or show topics from just one specific forum? <?php define('IN_PHPBB', true); $phpbb_root_path = 'forum/'; $phpEx = subs...
