Re: keep unread flags

Wow, Thanks for the reply Alan, I thought there must be some clever way of updating the user_unread_topics field to avoid thrashing the server. I wondered what the 0//1200069491// type entries meant, really neat idea to calcualte the unread posts as needed from a time. I hadn't considered using a se...

Re: keep unread flags

I've used this mod for a long time now and it's very good it does everything we wanted from it and more :) however just recently I had an idea that would be useful to us and maybe others too? and that's the ability for an Admin or Moderator to mark an old topic as unread for every user, could be use...

Re: [2.0.11] Resize Avatars Based on Max Width and Height

We seem to have stumbled on a slight bug with this after using it faultlessly for a very long time.. A few users have recently used images on a 3rd party server (which is fine) however this server appears to either be down or at least having major problems the result of which is that the avatar urls...

Image URL replacement

I've just installed the Uploadpic mod on a test server (http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=381282) and although it does exactly what I want, at the moment we just don't have the space to store loads of images on our webspace so it led me to think about using the mod to temporarily upload...

Re: Strange Cookie problem

I just registered as phpbbtest on your forum. I'm using IE7 under Windows Vista, and I'm not seeing the problem at all. The problem seems to be affecting random users at random points, Registration has been unaffected as far as I know. The majority of our members have not been affected but there ha...

Re: Strange Cookie problem

Check carefully what address it is trying to go to when you get the error. Trying to open anything inside the forum folder results in the same thing. IE says "Opening page http://www.completefisher.com/forum/... the progress bar moves Very slowly until eventually the page cannot be displayed error ...

Re: Strange Cookie problem

Scrap that last idea, in the time it took me to type that last post I was hit by the problem. I get the page cannot be displayed error in IE 6 but it works fine in Firefox. Can't see why. The only way to get it working on IE again would be to clear the cookie again Back to square one :(

Re: Strange Cookie problem

I've spent a bit more time reading up on this problem and after a few mins of goole searching It seems that cookie problems like this can be found all over the net, but again seem to be very few answers to them. I did however come across this: http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum21/11181.htm The last...

Re: [BETA] Phoogle (Google) Map

Rumaging around I notice that the togglegroup function in includes/phpbb_phoogle_class.php appears to set the default for the groups: function toggleGroup(whichType) { for (var i = 0; i < sbmarkers.length; i++) { var marker = sbmarkers[i]; if(sbmarkers[i].type == whichType) { if (marker.isHidden())...

Re: [BETA] Phoogle (Google) Map

The one thing I could do with some advice on, as I've been trying to work it out but can't: 1. How to hide the Admin's markers by default but when you click on the Show Admin box they appear rather than them being on by default and having to click to hide them. Simple (I noticed the command in your...

Re: [BETA] Phoogle (Google) Map

Well I've made a litle progress with this, Thought i'd put up what I have got so far, if nothing else to keep a record of what I've changed, my memory isn't great. As suggested I've made a second table to hold the places of interest: CREATE TABLE `phpbb_phoogle_poi` ( `user_id` mediumint(8) NOT NULL...

Re: [BETA] Phoogle (Google) Map

Yep guessed that was the case, Shame as I really didnt want to go adding loads of new members just so I could provide a link :| . Guess I will have to spend some time and try and work something out myself, would be a very useful addition, at least, it would be for us. Also been thinking about a way...

Re: [BETA] Phoogle (Google) Map

Is there any way to link to these custom events? easy to do for users by replacing the # with the relevant User id in the following: http://www.mysite.com/forum/phooglemap.php?u=# That link takes you to a zoomed in map with that user in, From the code used to place the extra tag, I don't think you ...
