Re: hammered by newly registered members

I've have 2 boards I am admin on, using the Q&A on them, 1 question only, all this time only 1 has gotten through, and I'm thinking this might be a human. Both my boards are smaller, so I don't get near the traffic most of you all do, but one board for a off road club still comes up 4 or 5 on google...

Re: data base backup question

Ya, I just doubled check to make sure. Just wondering, doesn't that make it a bit of a security issue if to have "public" write access?

Re: ? about upgrading from PHP 4.x to 5.x

OK, thanks, just wanted to make sure there was not some code in the data base that had to be altered to recognize the change from 4 to 5.

data base backup question

ver-3.0.7-PL1____Plain vanilla install, no mods____ Just a little oddity here. When I use the boards back up function, options chosen are full, text, Store file locally it is supposed to go the "store" folder in the directory where the board is installed, correct. Its not going there. Not sure where...

? about upgrading from PHP 4.x to 5.x

My server gives me the option to run either 4.x or 5.x, but not booth. The default {which I am currently running} is the 4.x. I'm wanting to go ahead and upgrade before I install a board on a different site. My question is when I switch will it effect my current board? It is 3.0.7-PL1, no mods, plai...

Re: Changing my forums address to old address

Rename your old forum folder to mysite/forum_bak, or whatever you like and rename your new forum folder to mysite/forum.

This is what the quick start guide says you can do. It also mentioned that you might need to check is the path for your cookies.

Re: Hiding Subforums

I believe there is a setting in the ACP that will allow you to do that. Check under the Forum tab. On that page you can edit the properties of your forums and sub forums by clicking on the edit button {the little green cog looking thing on the left.} If the main listings on your index page are set t...

simple footer vs overall footer question

This is more of a just for my knowledge question, not a problem. Went to put an image in the footer, edited the simple _footer.html, uploaded the files, did the whole refresh thing in the ACP, all of them, under general purge cache, and under styles I refreshed all three, templates, themes, and imag...

Re: Wanting input on hacker type security issues

Thanks, that what I was thinking. I'll do that, but I really dont have any access to the database or board files. It was just luck that I was able to get on a friends old computer that he had no anti virus software and access the page. Reported what I could. I don't think this is a php security issu...

Wanting input on hacker type security issues

Just looking for some input on a board I go to for info on my atv hobby. I'll post in the correct area if I need support of some type. I can't access it, my anti virus program tells me the site is "attacking my computer". I finally was able to access the coding for the forum page and I found this ja...

Re: [RC] No more spambots

As soon as I have time I'm gonna figure out the code I have to add to make the default setting read "pick time zone-required" instead of -12:00. If they dont then have a error message come up that says missing info, I think you all know what I'm getting at. If some one else has allready done this, i...
